Not sure about the overseas rights. That will also probably see a huge rise.

Oddly, Villas Boas is now the standout bookies favourite for the Spurs job. That doesn't necessarily mean a lot (Harry Redknapp was once odds on favourite to be England manager...) but it does have me a little concerned.

Chelsea fans, what were AVB's main failings as manager? I've heard his man management skills were awful and he completely lost the dressing room very early on in his tenure. Was he just unsuited for Chelsea? It's hard to imagine how a man can go from winning a bunk of trophies with Porto to being sacked within months at Chelsea. I really have no idea.

Villas Boas struggled because he tried to impose himself too soon on a veteran team that doesn't like to be told what to do.

He will be perfectly fine on a mobile, young, counter attacking team like the Spurs. Infact I hope he gets the job.

For once Harry got fked playing his own game.

He tried to change things too quickly both on and off the pitch.

For the first few months he insisted on playing the only way HE wanted to play when we simply did not have the personnel for that.

Off the pitch, both the veterans and the youngsters had problems with his man management skills. His treatment of respected veterans like Anelka and Alex didn't please many, and it's been said that he wouldn't communicate with any of the players. People quickly blame the old guard, but both the old and the young players clearly did not enjoy working with him if you listen to the interview.

I've come a long way in 2 years to be geeked about the fixture list being released in a few hours.

Spurs and AVB at home would be an awesome start to the season.

Intrigued. He did a great job with that Bordeaux team of a few years back, playing a very Spurs-like formation. He's also turned around the fortunes of a slouching French national squad. Might help our chances in signing Loic Remy, too.

Having read more about AVB's Porto stint and understanding why he failed at Chelsea (thanks to 5DOM and Slava for responding), I wouldn't mind giving him another chance at EPL management. I'd be happy with either him or Blanc. I like David Moyes too, but I'm not sure how I'd feel about him as Spurs manager.

There was another story about Scholes hitting Neville right in the rear while he was taking a leak beside the training pitch from a full pitch distance out.

I hope the Malaysian bidders withdraw. This could be amazing.
