I think very highly of him. He really is world class. The fact that Tottenham's price is only 5 mil more Porto's price for Moutinho, who's a very good player, is kinda crazy to me. Pirlo, Iniesta and a healthy Schweini are the only CMs who I think really would be a serious upgrade over than him.

To be fair Modric has gone from being relatively underrated to grossly overrated. To be worth 40mil you need to be a much more goalscoring threat from midfield like Cesc Fabregas or even Yaya Toure. He's been shunted around the Spurs midfield for quite a while that he has only 2 seasons ago started playing relatively less on the wings and more as a CM.

He's a neat little player but as with all Spurs players, Levy knows how to sell.

I agree, I have to say he's getting a bit overrated in discussions I've seen in this forum. Phenomenal CM, but top 10 player in the world? I definitely wouldn't go that far.

No offense, but he's overrated. He's a good player, but if he goes to Real Madrid, nothing will happen with him and he will finish at the end of the bench.

Hasn't done much in his career the time he has spent in England. In his 127matches that has played for the Spurs, he only has 21 assists that is terrible.

As you can see Silva almost had more assists in one season then Luka's entire career in England! So yeah Modric is nowhere near the level Silva is on, that is a joke. I mean he had 2 players from his own team have double the assists he had.

Bottom line is, Modric is nowhere and never as near the world class footballer status.

Gareth Bale gets really underrated, I think he's a much more valuable player than Luka for Spurs.

Gareth Bale was PFA player of the year, think about how overrated that was!

Assists don't tell the whole story. Look up Xavi's assist numbers.

I think he's rated just fine. Wasn't that the year with his Inter games? Still some of my best football memories.

True the build up of the play matters too. But Modric lacks that as well.
