Ronaldo got robbed this season. Iniesta was out for long stretches with injuries and Messi was not as successful. It'd have made more sense if atleast Xavi or Drogba were in the final 3.

I don't think CR7 was robbed. I would have been happy with either him or Messi winning, but I don't think either guy can claim to be well above the other. Im happy for Iniesta

No one was robbed, I'm sure the fact the Ronaldo already won the title before played its role, and Inniesta definitely deserves the recognition, he's the MVP of the euro champions, and Barca wasn't exactly a failure.

I do think Ronaldo was robbed. He had a far better club campaign. He played in more games, had more assists and far more goals all while winning the league. I feel he had a better Euro tournament also.

Messi had a more goal and more assists, so? It's not the best player award, it accounts for a lot of factors, and international title carries a lot of weight.
Milito won the 2010 award, does anyone really think Milito was even top 10 in that year, or any year of his career?
Everyone is entitled to his opinion, and everyone can give different weight to different acheivements, but Inniesta receiving the award wasn't a stretch by any means, maybe Drogba not being there can be criticized but when you have Ronaldo and Messi, there's a place for one more only...

Did Ronaldo won the best title of the year being the MVP of that tournament? No. So? Iniesta has done this year more than enough to deserve this award.

Messi has broken all records this year and people are not complaining about it.

I love Drogba and he was immense in CL, but the trio of Ronaldo, Messi and Iniesta were far more deserving of the nominations than him IMO.

Also I don't have any problem with Iniesta winning the award, but like Slava said, I think they should have given the award to him in 2010 as well if the same criteria were used. Xavi and Sneijder also would have made more sense. I must say though it must suck for Ronaldo cause Portugal only lost to Spain in penalties.

There are other awards in previous years that are much much more debatables than this one, everytime I remember that Fabio Cannavaro or Michael Owen have a Balon D'or... Even the one that Ronaldo (the fat one, the first one) won one in 2002 where he ONLY played in the WC...

Well this award is kind of a joke anyway. Balon D'or is the real one.
I think Messi will win that one again though.

I think this is just a case of people who don't like Ronaldo or Messi (myslef included although I do think Ronaldo was the best this year) voting for the 3rd party, its no big deal
