Bayer Munich vs Chelsea
Kick off: Friday August 30, 2013 - 20:45 (German time)
Referee: Jonas Eriksson
Location: Eden Arena, Prague, Czech Republic
European champions Bayern Munich are facing the unique chance to be the first German team to win the UEFA Super Cup ever. Bayern's player have still something to clear with Chelsea, after they were beaten on penalties by the blues in the 2012 home final. They are looking for revanche, but Chelsea hasn't slept this off season and retooled their team with players like Schürrle, de Bruyne, Willian and Essien. Also their most prominent signing might be Mourinho, well known to incite controversy.

Since ever Bayern's coach Pep Guardiola and Mourinho have a special relationship, as the Portuguese coach had a great deal of animosity with Guardiola during his time in the Spanish League. Mourinho already started the verbal battle:
"It was Jupp Heynckes's Bayern that was the best team in Europe. Now they have a new coach and new players - and I'm not sure if they are still as good."
The match will mark the first ever UEFA Super Cup between a pair of consecutive UEFA Champions League winners.
Possible Bayern formation:

Bayern's players who will miss the match: Martinez, Thiago, Badstuber, Höjbjerg
Possible Chelsea formation:
Maybe some of the Chelsea supporter can post a lineup from Chelsea, cause I am no to well known about their new team. Than I'll edit it in the starting post.

Personally I don't rate the Super Cup very high. But with the meeting of those two teams and those two coaches, combined with the recent history, I'm expecting a very exciting match!

cech
azpi, cahill, ivan, cole
mikel, ramires
de bruyne, mata, schurrle
lukaku
bench: terry, van gingkle, essien, hazard, oscar, torres
gives terry, lampard and hazard a little break and allows schurrle and de bruyne a chance to play against bayern again. mikel there to help defensively since bayern will dominate possession.

90% that you can scratch Schweini, he injured his ankle yesterday and is "very shaky" for Chelsea. As all Bayern DMs are out (Thiago, Javi, Schweini + Gustavo sold), there are several possibilities:
1) Lahm plays DM, and Rafinha subs in as RB
2) Kroos shifts back to DM, and Müller plays OM
3) Alaba plays DM, Boateng plays LB, and van Buyten or Kirchhoff play CB
My guess: (4-1-4-1):
Neuer
Rafinha, Boateng, Dante, Alaba
Lahm
Ribéry, Müller, Kroos, Robben
Mandzukic

Now Schweinsteiger is "cleared to play", whatever. The guy I am interested in most (Schürrle) is not playing for FCB anyway.

Can see FC Mourinho sneaking in a 1-0 here.

I thought he was really bad vs. United.

To be fair to him, he didn't get much service because no one could complete a pass that night.
He's never wow'ed me since he joined (aside from his brilliant volley against Milan in the preseason), but I must say his work rate's pretty impressive. He'll need to show more if he wants consistent playing time before the WC though.
As for my prediction for this game, 4-1 Bayern with Ivanovic getting the consolation goal.

Well, we did tell you when he was signed that he is not Mata/Hazard category. After signing Willian, too, now it is looking increasingly likely he'll end up on the bench.
He is best suited for a system with two strikers. You can't bring him as only striker because he is not physical enough and he ain't a real left midfielder either. Him next to Torres, Lukaku or Ba might work. Not sure if Mourinho plans on using a 4-4-2, though. If not he will end up a bench player. Not as bad as Marin but Mata, Hazard, Willian and de Bruyne probably, too, are better midfielders by a decent margin.

I know personnel wise it isn't so close but it's Mourinho v. Pep and because of that I'm thinking Blue 3-2 Red.

He's played something like 100 minutes since the Confederations Cup ended and just returned from injury. Even if he's become just a rotation player, he ain't getting sold anyway. I actually like this more direct team's chances against Bayern.
