The Final Draw for the 2014 FIFA World Cup will take place on 6 December 2013.

And for fun until that date... Here is the official simulator: http://ultra-zone.net/2014-FIFA-World-C ... tage-Draws

Creates some pretty crazy groups. If you come up with a good one, post it here.

I really hope Colombia don't draw that group. That group is as bad as it gets. I wouldn't mind Argentina's group though.

Germany's group is pretty tough too

Fifa announce that they change the drawing procedure like 3 days before the draw. Bunch of corrupt nerds.

From a German / Bundesliga POV, the best draw would be: Germany, USA, Ghana and Bosnia. A reunion with Klinsi, KP Boateng and Dzeko would have some great storylines. But then, the soccer gods will probably punish Jogi with Germany, Italy, Mexico and Russia. :-? 8-)

It sure looks like they made the change to save France's ass.

I think the soccer gods prefer not to have more than two European nations in one group.

There's really only three teams I'd like the US to avoid in group play: Spain, Germany and the Dutch. I believe they have the ability to get a point from everyone else in the tournament except those three.

With that said, these are the deadliest Groups of Death I've done in the 15+ minutes I've been playing with the simulator...

I don't mind the changes to the draw to be honest. It is less likely now to have 2 or 3 really tough groups.

Hoping for Colombia, Algeria, Australia, and Croatia

Hopefully the swiss don't draw a group of death. I like that team a lot. They've got a bunch of young attacking talent showing up right at the right time to back up that Stoker-Seferovic-Shaqiri front three ahead of their deep midfield, great fullbacks and whoever partners Schar ahead of Sommer.

So I used the simulator and I got these:

Group A: Brazil/Nigeria/Honduras/Bosnia
Group B: Spain/Ghana/Australia/England
Group C: Uruguay/Algeria/Costa Rica/Russia
Group D: Argentina/Ivory Coast/Iran/Portugal (dang, that's a tough one)
Group E: Germany/Ecuador/South Korea/Greece
Group F: Belgium/Cameroon/Japan/France (yikes!)
Group G: Colombia/Netherlands/Mexico/Italy (GOOD LORD. O.O)
Group H: Switzerland/Chile/USA/Croatia (group of scrubs...?)

Argentina and Portugal drawn in the same group

That should be a mini world cup right there.

OK, here's my draw using the simulator:

A) Brazil/Cameroon/Iran/Croatia
B) Switzerland/Ghana/Australia/Russia
C) Belgium/Algeria/Korea Republic/France
D) Spain/Ecuador/Mexico/Portugal
E) Columbia/Cote d'Ivoire/Costa Rica/Bosnia
F) Germany/Chile/USA/England
G) Agentina/Greece/Japan/Italy
H) Uruguay/Nigeria/Honduras/Netherlands

Both the spanish and german groups are very tough but overall there should be some good groups and at least one "group of death" given the pots and teams available.

This might sound bad but I'm hoping Korea gets a good travel draw as opposed to wishing for easier teams (i.e. Avoid Manaus at all costs). Would make it hell of a lot easier for me to travel and plan.

Don't even care if they end up with Spain, Chile and Italy... As long as they avoid Manaus.
