Chiellini is by far the best CB and has been for the past 10 years, Virgil isn't even close and likely will never be on that level.

I respect Chiellini & what he's done. But, VD has been absolute class.

Pogba is still a top 10 player?

Kane if fully healthy would definitely make this list. I would have KDB & Modric a little higher.

I understand you like some players more than others PL fans, british fans always overrate english players but how can Kane be nr.8 and Augero in the bottom of your list? Kane has 4 good PL seasosns, done nothing in international level,CL Son has been much better.
Augero in the last 10 years since he was 20 only Messi,Ronaldo has scored more goals despite his injuries.

Pogba isnt even playing like a top 10 in PL? Imho its too much recency bias in that list. Dont forget how De Bruyne was the best midfield in the world last year before the injury.

1. Messi - by far nr.1 in his own league
2. Ronaldo - not the same player but still big time
3. Virgil van Dijk - i rate highly a perfect modern CB
4. De Bruyne - a healthy KDB is the best passer, creator outside Messi
5. Salah
6. Neymar - too many injuries, uneven but skill wise top 3 talent
7. Mbappe
8. Modric
9. Aguero - you cant compare any scorer outside Messi/Ronaldo to Augero.
10 Griezmann
11.Oblak/Alisson
12.Alaba - great allaround talent
13.Hazard - he cant be higher on this list because he should score more, have more assist. You cant be effective top level 2 seasons in 5 years...
15. Coutinho
16. Mane

I would add Pogba if he was the old one in Juve or the one in the WC. Kane cant be in top 10 because he is inferior striker/player to Augero,Griezmann,Mbappe,Lewandowski. He needs to prove more outside PL.

You have to understand i tried.
Is really dificult to make that list from 8-15, i would say i changed my mind a few times when i was doing this list.

Actually i had the same problem because the first 7-8 players was easy, they are the like the best in their position but 8-15 is much harder.
I felt bad leaving out Pogba,Kane,Lewandowski, Kroos, Eriksen and some other players because of injury, bad season or two.

Aguero is almost underrated and overrated the same time. He has almost Henry like goal ratio in PL,because of his injury history that is overlooked but also he hasnt shined in CL with City. He was just too consistent as top 3 strikers for almost a decade to leave out of top 10.

Kane has done more internationally than most players. He's lead an average England team to two semi-finals, getting the World Cup golden boot in the process.

He's not been at his best this season, missing most of the season through injury, so it's fair to leave him off a top 15 list. But the idea that he's "done nothing internationally" is just false. Unless the only criteria is winning the tournament, just about everyone that isn't a French, German or Portuguese player has done nothing too.

Son has been fantastic for a while now, but Eriksen hasn't been all that great this season. Kane when healthy is easily Tottenham's best player, imo.

He hasnt done anything special other than scoring alot of penalties in WC, "shining" in the weak WC group England was in. He didnt play as well in the games either as he did in Tottenham, he was rightfully called out by alot of commentators, critics outside England for not showing up in the playoff stage in WC. England wasnt carried by his offence but more by their solid defence, team play.

You dont have to win, Mbappe dominated WC after the group stage, Pogba too but Greizmann just like Kane didnt do anything other than a few penalties. Its not about winning but scoring, playing well.

Son has been the best offensive player in Tottenham the last two seasons for his flair, scoring on his own, dominating from Winger position. CL he has been really good there, he has carried Tottenham when Kane was injured, not being at his best.

Is Mbappe really better than Neymar or just less controversial and more healthy?

Neymar has score 20+ goals, tons of assist in a bad season of injury. His worst season in PSG is a lot more effecient, better points player than Hazard best season in his career.

Hazard isnt on that level his dribbling doesnt lead assist, goals. Neymar is no Ronaldinho,Ronaldo,Rivaldo etc but Hazard is getting better press because you dont expect him to reach world best level of Messi. Hazard is lucky he is not from a country where Neymar "sucks" because he is compared to Ronaldinho,Pele,Ronaldo....

Just more healthy and he is the young new shiny toy in world class level. Media is sick of Messi dominating the world of Soccer since he was 20. They need a new wonderkid to dethrone.

Mbappe with his skill if he doesnt dazzle with speed, solo goals like Henry did for decade plus he will be a disapointment imo.

No Kanté

Clearly the best player in the world over the last 3 years.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders

I know you are Leicester fan but is Messi a has been player?

Kante might arguably been best midfielder in the world between 2016-2018. Modric i would rate higher today.
