the spurs literally had the trophy courtside ready to be presented. So i'll pick them.

the 3-3 at palace doesn't even matter because they already blew the chelsea game. But even then they still had what 4 games to go and they lost to a good team too.

you make some random threads btw loool

Replace liverpool with atletico next week and you have yourself a valid thread.

It's a miracle that Liverpool were even in with a shot to win the league in the first place. Their team is largely awful with the exception of a few exemplary performers. They won an absurd amount of games in a row in the second half of the season because they played some extremely ballsy attacking football, which ironically was their undoing against Palace where they tried to run up the score and got caught.

I don't consider it much of a choke job. United just a couple seasons ago was worse. San Antonio's choke against the Heat was also significantly worse.

nobody counts liverpool as a choke because nobody even expected them to finish in the top 4. its like if the blazers made it to the finals and lost in game 7.

so this thread is kinda dumb. especially since youre comparing it to an actual choke job.

Definitely the Spurs. I was just rewatching the end of game 6 and i'm still shocked how they squandered that lead. Absolutely heart breaking.

I couldn't figure out what on earth Tottenham had screwed up horribly for last year until I read the replies and realized you were talking about the San Antonio Spurs lmao.

What Tottenham-choke do you prefer: 06', 12' and 13' ?

I thought 12 was the worst.

06' they got sick , that was just horrible luck lol. I'm sure spurs fans hate lasagna now loool
12' they made it but got unlucky again due to a dumb rule IMO
13' was the worse out of the 3 seasons you picked , I won't even consider the other 2 as chokes.

Miami Heat were massive favorites against the Spurs. This was a Miami team that won 27 games in a row.

2012 was definitely the worst. I think we were 13 points ahead of Arsenal at one point and should've easily finished 3rd, then after collapsing and securing 4th the Chelsea CL win was the final insult. I believe the Harry Redknapp to England speculation unsettled the players, but that's still no excuse.

In 2013 Arsenal had the easier run-in and took full advantage of it, wasn't a big surprise.

Looking back i actually think Arry underachieved with that squad(you see how great players like Modric and Bale are today at Madrid).

Yet the Spurs led that series 1-0, 2-1, 3-2, blew them out once or twice in their wins, and were 20 seconds away from winning the title in 6 games.

The 13' Spurs choke is a double entendre.

They didnt play great last year. Bale bailed them out in most of their games.

Not to mention Van der Vaart playing some great football, and a fully motivated Adebayor too. On paper I think we had one of the best squads in the league that season and really should've finished top 3, so I agree that we underachieved. In fact, if it wasn't for Van Persie going nuts we probably would've finished above Arsenal even with the collapse.

How? How can anyone pick Liverpool here? The spurs were arguably favorites the whole season and were literally 1 play away from taking home the title. Hard to say Liverpool choked in comparison when they just weren't good enough and challenged for the league out of nowhere.

Spurs also came out of nowhere because of Westbrook's injury.

And Heat were massive favorites in the Finals. They won 27 games in a row and LeBron James played the best basketball of his life.
