The Top 50 - #WorldCupRank

Post#1 » by No_20 » Sat May 31, 2014 5:06 pm

http://www.espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1 ... d-cup-rank

Remember this is not Americans voting. It's journos all over the world. Cox, Honigstein, Marcotti, Sid Lowe, Duarte etc. Some of the best journos out there.

And these German posters told me that Reus, Gotze, Ozil etc. are better than Neymar. Well, it looks like Neymar is in the Top 30 while Reus, Kroos and Gotze are out of it :D

I guess the Top 5 will be:

1. Messi
2. Ronaldo
3. Iniesta
4. Suarez
5. This is the tough one. Maybe Thiago Silva?
Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Kevin Garnett, Toni Kroos, Pep Guardiola, Ernst Happel, Joachim Löw.

These journalists are terrible not only is Neymar not #1-10 on their list but they won't even give him every spot in the top 5. How can one take such prifessional incompetence?

Reus and Modric should be top 10. What a horrible list so far.

Mine is

Suárez
Touré
Thiago Silva
Ibrahimovic
Schweinsteiger
David Silva
Reus

Ribery and Robben are overrated imo.

Think we should do our own version and see how it varies.

I don't get the hate with Reus, football is a team game, can you blame him for not winning trophies with Dortmund? The team is flawed, while their starting XI is easily top 5, their depth is non-existent and they're rarely at full health.

I mean if you watch Reus play, he makes something happen whenever he has the ball.

There is no doubt in my mind that he has the potential to lead Germany into winning a world cup.

kinda mad that no Bosnians are going to make the list. Dzeko is for sure better than Eto'o right now (and I'd argue Drogba too), I'd take Begovic over Casillas (who doesn't even play for Real Madrid domestically). But at the very least, Pjanic deserves to make it if noone else, he's a stud.
