Their coach is a prick and Joel Campbell's flop vs the US was still pretty bad but I am rooting for them since it is good for CONCACAF and they are a funner team.

Not really true. Plus, most of the people in Greece don't even want to be in the European Union. Unfortunately, the EU is not going to let us leave the European Union which is why the European leaders (Juncker, Merkel etc.) have fought strongly against the rise of the Left-wing Syriza in Greece and have supported the right-wing New Democracy party.

Fair enough. I absolutely understand the fact that Americans would prefer to root for Costa Rica due to geographical proximity and familiarity with a number of Costa Rican players.

I also agree that Costa Rica has played better football in this World Cup. They are truly looking a lot better than us and they are the clear cut favorites in my opinion. All of them are valid reasons.

Once again, you (and everyone else) have every right to support Costa Rica over Greece. Just don't let political misconceptions influence your opinion. That's all.
