Who will Brazilians be supporting/rooting for?
I personally feel that Brazilians might root on Argentina just because Germany annihilated and embarrassed them, so no matter how big their rival with their neighbor is, I feel they have to want Germany to lose now. If it were a 3-1 or something more respectable like that, I could see them going for Germany, but they're broken hearted because of Germany. So what do you think? Please say where you're from when you post too so we can know too, I really really want to hear from Brazilians to know who they personally will be rooting for.

Losing to the eventual champion in the semis has to be better than their arch nemesis winning the WC in the Maracana

It will take much more than a 7-1 defeat to make Brazilians root for Argentina.

I think they'll be cheering for a meteor strike on the stadium.
But Germany, IMO. No way they'd root for their rivals to win it all on their own turf. If Germany wins they can at least take some small comfort in knowing that they only lost to the best team in the tournament.

Then you really don't understand the history here at all. Most Brazillians will be rooting for Germany/against Argentina.

Would the United States of America support Canada against say Finland if Finland had just recently trashed them in the semi final of a hockey wc or olympics gold medal game?
Don't think so.

I think I know him well enough to say he will be a hardcore Messi supporter in the final.
That way he can still keep his Italy has more trophies than Germany & Germans are chokers posts alive.
I would miss these posts, though. Always good for a laugh.

Re: Who will Brazilians be supporting/rooting for?
Lol 99% of brazilians and 99% of uruguayans will be rooting for Germany.
And if you go to other south american countries the numbers would probably be the same.
I never want other latin american winning it, if its not us then i hope its none of the rest. And i think in general we share that sentiment.

I will be rooting for Germany.
I said to germany fans at the last game: Please, if you face Argentina at finals, score at least eight goals...
Most of brasilians will be rooting for Germany.
But there are some brasilians Messi fans, and they will be rooting for Argentina.
Neymar said today in an interview that he is rooting for Argentina because of Messi.

IMHO the English are even worse off than the Brazilians. They get shafted either way.

It's not stupid...
My parents are rooting for Argentina.
I have a lot of friends rooting for Argentina.
Even Neymar is rooting for Argentina.
For a lot of reasons: Messi, politcis, people against our national team, because they are south americans, because of the 7 X 1, etc.
I think 20% of the Brazilians are rooting for Argentina.
I'm not and hopefully, Germany scores 8 goals.

Re: Who will Brazilians be supporting/rooting for?
Almost every single one of them will be rooting for Germany, I'm sure.
I mean Germany hurt their feelings, but they were just that much better and Brazil's defense was woeful.
Argentina, on the other hand, is their archrival, so it would be like Celtics-fans rooting for the Lakers in the finals, etc. That's just not even an option in the minds of most Brazilians with any kind of nationalistic pride.
