Article by Miguel Delaney on the best managers in world football. His Top 20:

1. Pep Guardiola
2. Jose Mourinho
3. Diego Simeone
4. Jurgen Klopp
5. Louis Van Gaal
6. Manuel Pelligrini
7. Brendan Rodgers
8. Antonio Conte
9 Rudi Garcia
10. Roberto Martinez
11. Carlo Ancelotti
12. Unai Emery
13. Joachim Low
14. Marcelo Bielsa
15. Frank de Beor
16. Vincente Del Bosque
17. Cesare Prandelli
18. Mauricio Pochettino
19. Arsene Wenger
20. Rafael Benitez

I dont like him, but Mourinho is the best imo. Look at his record against the big teams. He owns Arsenal. He owns Man Utd. He owns Liverpool. He owns Liverpool. He owns Bayern. He owns Barcelona. He's always in the Semi Finals of the CL and always up there in the leagues. What's weird is that Rodgers, who has never won a trophy so far, is ahead of Carlo Ancelotti, who has 3 CL wins(record as a manager, tied with Bob Paisley.) And he could've won more
Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Kevin Garnett, Toni Kroos, Pep Guardiola, Ernst Happel, Joachim Löw.

If this is based on last season, Simeone is levels above everyone else.

Don't see much difference between Mou and Simeone. One has achieved success the same way for a much longer period of time. Also some of the names he has above Ancelotti make me laugh, and would have made me laugh even before he came to Madrid and won a Champions League in his debut season

Well, there is Mourinho and others.

Mourinho is a level ahead from others.

My list would be like;

1-Mourinho
2-Mourinho
3-Mourinho

4-Ancelotti
5-Klopp
6-Bielsa
7-Simeone

The rest is just meh.

it's delaney , he fully means it. I followed him on twitter for a while then had to stop and unfollow. He thinks we'd win the league with rodgers/martinez and that they are superior than wenger in every way at the moment.

He has this fetish for younger "modern" managers for some reason lol.

Well that may not be true but Wenger doesnt deserve to be in top 20 list. He is below average.

I have to rank Simeone over Mou for the time being.... right now speaking, Diego has been a better coach IMO.

VIllas Boas and Allardyce need to be top 2 IMHO.

what did 20 managers win that wenger couldn't if you're putting 20 ahead of him?

he's using the same recency logic you are using I believe.

its true you do, I wouldn't put simeone ahead of jose at the moment but I was using's massimo's reasoning of looking at what they've won to counter his claim of wenger not even being top 20.

I'm not even wenger's biggest fan at the moment but thats an absurd claim. 10-15 ahead of arsene i'll say is okay but then 20? lol
