Man city 2 Leicester 5

well it was as much a surprise for me.

N'Didi out injured for up to 12 weeks meant that Papy Mendy continued at DM with Jonny Evans back at CD. However we changed to 3 at the back and Dan Amartey played at the back - his first appearance since a nasty injury 2 years ago.

The first 20 minutes were terrible from a Leicester point of view. Mahrez hit a rocket in the 3rd minute and we played incredibly deep with Vardy marking Rodri (basically in midfield). things didn't look good

But then we killed them when we attacked. The second half we just sliced them apart at will and the result was more than we could have dreamt of.

West Ham were just better than us today. We didn't play badly but they were better all round.

Leicester 0 Villa 1

Too busy with work for a full rundown

Too many important players injured. Injury time winner. Match should have been a 0-0 draw. Grealish is a punk but a talented punk.

Europa League first Group match

Leicester 3 Zorya Luhansk 0

Well I knew nothing at all about our opponents for this first match other than that they were Ukranian and had already drawn with 2 top sides including the team that beat Real Madrid in the CL.

The first 20 minutes Zorya had a slight advantage over us asthey played fast and furious football and when on the ball moved forward decisively and dangerously. Having said that they really only had the one chance throughout the first half which Kasper saved well. As the game progressed we started to work them out and in the second half we dominated the game cutting them apart. the score could have been much worse if not for some good last ditch defending.

Again we played with out the injured Vardy, N'didi, Ricardo and Soyuncu. Perez was dropped for Maddison and Fuchs came in to replace Justin. Iheanacho lacks pace but he links up very well and has a good footballing brain, Maddison coming back from injury started to look like the Madderz we know and love but the two stars of the day were Fofana and Barnes. Barnes was a terror every time he got the ball and he tore through the heart of Zorya time after time. The first goal came from a beauty of a shot that hit the post from Barnes before Iheanacho fed the ball to Madders for a tap in. the second was an incredible run by barnes finished by a little dink over the goalkeeper (sheer class) and the third was an opportunist gaol for Iheanacho which was well put away.

Kasper 6.5 1 great save but his usual give the ball away too

Castagne 8 he truly is a marvel
Fofana 9 This guy is going to be a star in both defence and set pieces.
Evans 7.5
Fuchs 7 stood in well and I'd be happy for him giving Justin a break

Mendy 8 making the team tick
Tielemans 7
Maddison 8
Praet 8.5 the man is everywhere (silently)

Barnes 9.5 stunning
Iheanacho 8

Arsenal 0 Leicester 1

We played negative and boring football for 60 minutes but Arsenal didn't have the craft to score. Then we brought Vardy on and won the game.

Fuchs 7
Evans 7.5
Fofana 7
Castagne 6.5

Mendy 8
Tielemans 6.5
Praet 5.5

Vardy 7.5

AEK 1 LCFC 2

Easier match than the score indicates even though AEK had a few chances.

Castagne and Evans injured on sunday meant that more changes needed to be made. A mix of very old and very young at the back with 4 oldies from our title team in defence. Our movement and skill ahead of them meant we should have won this easier.

Kasper 6 let one in through his legs

Fuchs 6 3rd game in a week which is probably more than all of last year
Morgan 7 some good heading and positional sense even if his legs are no longer up to it
Fofana 7.5

Albrighton 7.5 great energy
Justin 6
Choudhury 7
Tielemans 6.5
Maddison 8

Under 7
Vardy 8

Thought I'd type up our best starting 11 to see how we've been affected by injuries this season:

Kasper - no problem played 8/8

Ricardo - hasn't played a match this season
Evans - presently injured played 5/8
Soyuncu - presently injured played 4/8
Castagne - presently injured played 6/8

N'Didi - presently injured played 2/8
Tielemans - no problem played 8/8
Maddison - ok now played 6/8

Barnes - ok played 7/8
?
Vardy ok played 6/8

We're clearly suffering in defence and particularly CB where Morgan has been injured and Amartey is out injured.

Fuchs 7.5
Fofana 7.5
Justin 7
Albrighton 7.5

Mendy 8
Praet 6.5

Leicester 4 Sporting Braga 0

Possibly our best performance of the season with a very makeshift team against a team which wins many and loses few in Europe. Second half we simply played around with them.

Kasper 7

Albrighton 7
Justin 8
Fofana 8
Fuchs 8
Thomas 7.5

Choudhury 9.5
Tielemans 8
Maddison 9

Under 6.5
Iheanacho 9

Praet 8
Morgan 8
Barnes 8
Perez 8

Fuchs is still playing? I thought he must be dead man walking by now.

He was for a while and hardly played last year but with all our injuries he's playing CB in a back 3 and he has played amazingly well. He's actually played 2 games a week for the last 3 weeks too.

As an aside he is a funny and intelligent guy too.

Leicester 1 Wolves 0

We were great in the first half and should have put the game away. We didn't so went to plan B for the second half - let's not allow a goal and win that way.

Not so relaxing for the fan but it seems we can do that too.

Nice to be going into the break on top of the league.

Kasper 8

Justin 6.5
Fofana 9
Evans 8
Fuchs 7.5
Thomas 6

Mendy 6.5
Tielemans 7.5
Maddison 7.5
Praet 7.5

Vardy 7.5
