The draw is in! Using this random team generator (which I repurposed for a group phase generator), we have our groups for the draft group stage: http://chir.ag/projects/team-maker/. However, in this thread I suggest we discuss the best method to proceed in determining the outcome of the fixtures. Maybe we can post tactics and stuff as well? Hell if I know, I'm just making the thread.

We had judges, but I haven't seen them as of late. Hopefully they come back and have time. Are we doing a thread per group? Thread per game?

I think a thread per group is easiest. Everyone in the group can post their teams and tactics if they want. It was successful in the past and keeps it organized.

Finally got to this phase of the game. The last few rounds of the draft thread were like pulling teeth.

Should I still fire up football manager and do Sims of all the games in addition to whatever judge system we are using?

Judges+two consecutive FM simed games should be perfect, right? Keeps everything fair in case the judge is being unknowingly bias against a player/whatever. And it gives us some good discussion points. Last year some game threads got a handful of posts and that's it.

A thread per group would be ideal, since line-ups could change per matchup. Could cause a huge clutter

I think it'd be easier if I made the group threads, and people posted their relevant tactics there. It's difficult to plan different formations and setups without really knowing the other team's rosters and lineups. However, I'll send you mine as soon as possible.

I say we allow whoever is eliminated from the first round to join in as judges. At least 3 judges would be nice.

We need someone additional to Treiz. Any other volunteers for the first round?
