FIFA 16

Post#1 » by TNBT » Tue Sep 22, 2015 10:29 am

Who else is getting this game? I'm picking up a copy as soon as I can. Has anyone got any expectations for this game, either good or bad?

Gonna dl it later tonight. Demo was decent, slower pace and better balanced gameplay.

Question, did anyone pre-download this on the PS4? If so, how big was the file? I just finished pre-downloading it (Europe, should drop in a couple of hours) , but the size was just around 4 gigs, is that for real?

but it's about 20gb installed
the action and rpg games i've downloaded were much bigger, so i guess i didnt see it as an issue

You are probably the only one who thought that way. Good for you.

I'm drukenly typing this so excuse all the errors.

The demos were equal this year, but the FIFA demo doesn't play like the actual game, FIFA is superior this year (and PES15 wasn't very good, it's only this year they made a huge leap in game play imo), but if you want a more arcadey experience, PES will provide that, but the roster updates/summer strand fees haven't been updated, and on Xbox you can't import team logos/kits/kit sponsers, real player names etc, so don't even consider it on Xbox. PES refs also never call fouls, which are kind of integral to the game, lol.

FIFA16> PES16, but in three or four years they may be equal.

HA same. The touches are much more realistic, namely with settles. So I can't exactly hoof it to Robben and in one touch settle then accelerate to 100 mph. Bummerrrrrr

Well, that depends on what you want.
PES has always provided a more creative way of scoring goals and they don't feel like the ones in Fifa, who feel the same most of the time.
Though, if you like online play, then PES is just crap, while EA's able to provide solid servers.
Of course EA has all the licences while PES doesn't and if you don't own a PS4 you also can't do any solid editing/using kits etc.

Though, if you do have a PS4, you can edit stuff like jersey at ease and create a solid game.

Other then that, I do feel like PES is a bit too offensive minded(loads of goals) and defending can be frustrating at times as you feel like the players moving on rails(or gliding) and you know that you'll give up a goal once you lose certain battles in midfield.
Though, Fifa has momentum and you also get a feeling during the game(against the CPU) if you got a chance and when/if the opponent will score on you.

BTW: There are also many great editors for PES that also show how to create those player faces on youtube.

Dialed back my franticness and have been more successful. When I first get Fifa I spend so much time messing with in manager mode and building my team doing contracts and other stuff that I don't play that many games, so when I do play I'm all crazy. Got a solid 7 games in yesterday, and I was starting to roll a bit.

yeah i mostly play career mode with a ton of mods, since PES doesnt have the licenses and feels pretty bad without mods to include them. ive always played FIFA but last year i tried PES and was impressed by how much better it felt when attacking.

Anyone on PS4? I enjoyed my first few days. I've drawn every match, though! Haha. Been playing with City online.

Well, so far I've got to say that Fifa's pure crap, especially thanks to every opponent passing the ball like Barca on their best day and with the own team not able to do much in the passing game.
It also feels like they slowed down your team and passing even more compared to the demo.

And them Goalkeepers are at it again as well.

The commentators are fun as hell, talking about a brilliant shot and no chance for the goalkeeper on this shot.

Played the demo and really felt like a slower version of last years, but that's where all the changes end it's still the same game as last year which to me was a pretty bad game.

I bought PES recently and really enjoying it, I'm really enjoying the multitude of ways you can score and it's definitely a lot smoother to play. Defending can be hard sometimes but I feel can be corrected if I just show some patience rather than running head first to the opponent.

Demo played nothing like the real game this year. Pretty stupid of EA, but yeah, very different.

I got it yesterday on PS4 and love it. I've never really played FIFA before now, so it took me a bit to get used to the controls. I played as Man Utd obviously against some other EPL team that had crap ratings lol. I won 11-0 with Martial with 4, Januzaj with 3, and one each to Memphis, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger and Hererra.

Game is good, hard to get used to taking into account the last FIFA games. I like the fact that you can't abuse pace any more, but at times it's a bit absurd, nothing they shouldn't be able to patch in the following weeks though.

Passing is difficult, you've really got to put a lot of thought into it, it's a lot more tactical and less mindless than the previous editions.

AI passing is too strong, that seems to be the general consensus. All in all it's a refreshening version, people who like the game to be in the mold of "pick Ronaldo, run past opponent, win game" are disappointed, I personally like the game.

Some things will definitely get patched though, mainly giving pace and acceleration some of its power back and nerfing the AI's passing game.

tldr; Game is a lot harder and requires more thought, there are less goals and you have to work harder (sometimes a bit too hard) to win the game. All in all, good game in my opinion.
