R9 vs. CR7

Ronaldo Lima vs. Cristiano Ronaldo... the battle of the Ronaldos!

1) Who is the better player at their peaks?

2) Who should be ranked higher all time?

Fenomeno. To both questions.

I think Cristiano personality (arrogant, cocky) doesnt help him in this kind of rankings, people always count that BS.
Ill say Ronaldo Fenomeno for the first question and for the second question, without a doubt, Cristiano Ronaldo.

I like CR7's arrogance, makes him a fun character and perfect Madrista.

It's just that you're putting him up against Fenomeno. Fat Ronaldo would've become the GOAT if he had stayed healthy, and should be ranked in the top 5 in spite of his career being derailed by his knees.

There is no way second question's answer would be R9. He simply had a very short career, became injury prone. Ronaldo has been playing world class football for about 10 years, no serious injuries and pretty good with his form.

The achievements will put CR in front of Fenomeno in all time lists, but the sheer brilliance of Ronaldo was incredible. What a shame.

R9 brought a certain panache that Cristiano clearly lacks. Fenomino for both.

I get the argument that CR7 has actually accomplished more by virtue of being at his best for so much longer; but his best just doesn't match Fenomeno's brilliance to me...and even after his prime Fat Ronaldo was a man capable of truly magnificent things on the football field. This is a man who was still one of the most lethal forwards in the sport after his knee exploded and he'd grown fat (n started bangin trannies). The shining figure in his nation's last WC title despite already being in his pre-mature post-prime; on a side with two other incredible footballers alongside him in attack.

To me he's up there with Diego, Cruyf, Pele and Beckenbauer, even though we didn't get to see what he was fully capable of with a full career; as his portuguese namesake has enjoyed.

I am no Cristiano fan, but I think he is clearly superior career wise. Even lacking achievements with Portugal's NT, what this guy has done over the past 10+ years is just unheard of.

I see their peaks not too different in terms of level, and CR managed to keep that level over the years, so IMO the answers are:

1) Ronaldo (slightly)
2) Cristiano (by a wide margin)

pretty obvious indeed :)

although my opinion is also coloured by my 'hate' for his attitude and teams he played for

brilliance = the real ronaldo, if i had to pick one of them to have in my team for 10 years in a row i'd pick Cristiano (i'm already hating my choice actually)

i remember playing fifa 99, where ronaldo seemingly wasn't even in the game. he was listed as "a. calcio" playing for inter and brazil.
call me when cr7 gets renamed in fifa just for giggles by the developers.

Fat Ronaldo had the better peak and the international achievements. Cristi has the better club career/achievements.

I think the bester peak is Fatty and Cristi will be ranked higher

Jordan never fully understood basketball. He had the lowest basketball IQ of any NBA "superstar" in history.

This avi is what you guys get for underestimating just how lethal a Suarez-Kruse-Dybala front 3 would be....at least Kruse & Dybala are getting to prove their class with bigger clubs this year.
