You would think that Canada in theory should draw an easier team with how well they did in the prelims, but no...

Turns out an offseason training program consisting of complaining about wages doesn't translate to success on the pitch

It's bollocks, but they may have a point when it comes to America. Isnt the women team more popular in U.S. than the men when it comes to ratings, interest etc.?

Eh. It's different. The top earners on the women's team actually makes as much if not more than the top players on the mens team because they actually get a contract for the womens team whereas the men just receive gameday bonuses. They made more last year because it was a world cup year.

Well, Germany made it to the semis and I'm pretty sure they don't know how that happened.

The team's pretty bad on defense and doesn't really know what to do offensively.
Now they'll play Canada, again, who beat them 2-1 in the group stages while playing their reserves...

Canada is winning Gold if they can get past Germany.

Swedish soccer coach (previous US soccer coach) asked if she could coach a men's team: "Well, Angela Merkel runs a whole f*cking country."

Correction: "Well, Angela Merkel RUINS a whole f*cking country".

Can't imagine a woman coaching a men's team. Too much of a macho culture in football. But Sweden is probably the most liberal/PC country in the world so maybe there's a chance there.

Canada deserved more, but it's nice to take home the Bronze once again.

Canada probably should have got the gold in 2012 when Sinclair was absolutely unstoppable in London.
