Favourite football/soccer kits of all time?

Post#1 » by Baphomet » Thu Dec 15, 2016 11:56 pm

So, we all have our favourite kits. Post 'em here.

AS Roma 14/15 third kit:

During the early-mid 10s, Nike had a modus operandi of designing really stripped back, clean looking kits. This is before their switch to gradient abominations in 2016 (see: Roma, Barca, City and Inter's current away/third kits). I've always liked Roma's black alternate kits, and I feel that this one is the apex.

Juventus 95/96 home kit:

Fond memories watching this Juve team as a kid. Vialli, Del Piero, Conte, Deschamps, Ravanelli. CL champions. There's nothing particularly special about this shirt, I just like how the Sony font looked with Juve's famous black & white stripes.

Russia 16/17 home kit:

I love the wine & gold colour scheme of Russia's current home kit. The Russian federation logo is clean too. Just an all around cool looking kit.

Finally, for good measure...

Tottenham Hotspur 1999/2000 home kit:

There's nothing terribly special about this one, but it's my favourite Spurs shirt. We were painfully mediocre and finished below West Ham that season, but it was a season full of unusual characters trying to cope with an injury stricken squad.

Why rely on nuance, facts and logic when you can bludgeon the other side with mindless repetition of "Duuur McDaniel's has potential :tooth and still be treated as if you were reasonable.

This is actually really cool. I'd wear that just to walk around.

Not the same kit, but this era of Derby just makes me think of Paolo Wanchope and this goal:

Yeah man, I had a few like these. I took the number 4 Dino Baggio for some strange reason but I was a big fan of Vialli, Del Piero, Ravanelli. Di Livio, Ferrara, Peruzzi, Lombardo. Vieri and Zidane also later on. Awesome team that was. All these Italian giants, eventhough I'm totally not an Italy-minded football fan but they were legendary good in that period.

That's nothing compared to Campos and his jerseys. :D

Other than that, I liked our jerseys of the 94/95 season.

I always liked the Arsenal kits when Dreamcast was the sponsor

Not because they were anything special, but because Sega Dreamcast was such a random sponsor

^ Just seeing Tony Adams and Vieira gives me painful flashbacks. They were too damn good in that era.

People really like the 80s/90s 'more is more' design philosophy, huh? There's definitely some cool ones, especially that Mexico one britblazerdude posted.

I actually really like the current Dutch one. Super plain, but that's generally what I admire in a kit.

Juve kits are always fantastic. Big fan of gold, so i loved the black city kits 3 seasons back. The Madrid 2011-12 my favourite in the modern era, and can't lie, i wear the mint green portugal frequently

Shoutout to this kit for having the best kit numbers of all time. The stripes are awesome and it's just a classic for me, so much so that I own one myself even though I'm far from a Man U fan.
