League Titles In Each of the Last SIX+ Decades

Post#1 » by britblazerdude » Thu May 18, 2017 3:10 am

With Monaco winning the league title today, they become one of just a few teams that have been champions of the country at least once in each of the last six decades. Pretty impressive. Where does that put them in comparison with other major European clubs?

Eleven Consecutive Decades

Rangers FC 1890s-2010s

Nine Consecutive Decades:

Ajax 1930s-2010s
Benfica 1930s-2010s

Eight Consecutive Decades:

FC Barcelona 1940s-2010s
Inter Milan 1910s-1970s

Seven Consecutive Decades:

AC Milan 1950s-2010s
Celtic 1950s-2010s
Fenerbahce 1950-2010s
Juventus 1950s-2010s
Real Madrid 1950s-2010s

Six Consecutive Decades:

Bayern Munich 1960s-2010s
Galatasaray 1960s-2010s
Monaco 1960s-2010s
To Dare Is To Do? 13 League Titles. You've only got 2.

All it says is that they are a very rich club in a poor league.

The present Monaco team look fantastic but will their great players want to stay around to play in what is an average and uninviting league. Look at PSG - if they had the chance they'd jump into a european league without a second thought.

I'm surprised that there are not many more teams from other small leagues like eastern europe, belgium, Holland etc... that have done the same thing.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders
