Not a fan of the signing, not much of a reputation as a tactician but with his ties to the club and given his ability to get on with players I'm sure he will get every chance to succeed at the club.
Having Hermann Gerland at his side is going to alleviate some of the pressure. Gerland has seen everything at the club having coached there in various capacities for close to 25 years and since Bayern is going to continue to want to build on the foundation laid by Van Gaal and Guardiola he'll continue to be a valuable asset.
One of the advantages for Kovac is going to be that this team doesn't need much in the way of direction. Much of the spirit of this team is somewhat self-sustaining as long as one manages to reign in the egos on the squad to a degree.
Bayern is at a point where they're going to have to transition and rebuild the core of the team to a degree so as long as Bayern is competitive in league play, doesn't embarrass themselves in the champions league play and finishes the league in the top 3-4 Kovac will be fine.
Will be interesting to see what's going to happen with transfers.
Would love to see Bayern make a move for Martial in the offseason and if there's any meat to the Malcom rumors Bayern would be set at the wings for the foreseeable future.
