Both can be true :)

He's looked good overall. He's been caught in possession once or twice and started breaks, but those are his only foibles really.

Sanchez has been solid other than a couple of poor moments forced by Aubameyang

Stating the obvious but we sorely missed Kane during some of those opening CL matches last season

Theres no arguing that this was correct.

Vertonghen acting innocent is the real disgrace here lol

Vertonghen does that all the time to feel the defender. Certainly wasn't going for a head shot.

It's soft at best, there's literally no incentive for Vertonghen to elbow Gotze intentionally

Poor refereeing tainted the match a bit, but that second half performance was amazing.

**** the media and its manufactured 'Wembley hoodoo' up its arse

Dortmund are a quality team and were unlucky at times, especially with that farce of an offside decision. Looked gassed in the second half.

Very difficult match to analyse because after 1-0 the score should have been different at every turn. This may have been the worst ref performance i have witnessed since Korea's matches against Italy and Spain in 2002.

Vertonghen is a pretty dirty player generally but there wasn't anything intentional this time.

Intentional or not doesnt matter. Götze wasnt even able to continue playing. So I'd say yellow is absolutely correct.

Think in the end Spurs had the better chances and deserve the three points. Absolutely dreadful reffing on both ends tho, besides the offsides/not offsides and the red, the goal kick/corner decisions were always wrong.

Hopefully if the appeal doesnt work for Verts, its only the 1 game against Apoel. (Not sure if the ref decided it was a second yellow or not)

Within the context of acting innocent it matters quite a bit. Gotze was behind him, so if he had no intention to hurt anyone and was going for a simple arm shield, he may have no idea what he did.

I've been a big proponent of Kyle Walker but after that performance, Aurier looks a whole class above him.

Sanchez was immense as well.

We're building a great team.

and so they should, like chelsea should destroy Qarabag.

Celtic are a very low level team.

How is Celtic a very low level team? No one will argue that Qarabag is a very low team but how can Celtic be a very low team? Celtic is ranked 119th in the world. What is Qarabag's rank?

Then whoever does the rankings is a complete moron using inadequate data for them. Celtic are not even in the top 30 in the UK.

There was a time when they (and Rangers) were decent teams and top 10 in the UK but now if Celtic were put in the championship they wouldn't even get promoted. In the Prem they'd be in the relegation battle. They are a big fish in a small pond. Some of the Scottish prem teams would struggle in the Englishleague two(fourth tier).
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders

Small rant on people expecting all near post shots to be saved: Burki allowed 2 near post goals Wednesday against Spurs and people have given him a lot of s*** for letting both in b/c they were near post, but I'd argue, as a former goalkeeper myself, he would have had to do an incredible job to save either one. Just above head height and near post is ridiculously hard to save, its the longest arm motion to make and you rarely expect near post so reactions are slightly slower than far post movements. Plus, if its a close shot, the keeper is likely leaning far post to begin with in anticipation.

tl;dr: Burki shouldn't be at fault for either of the 2 first half goals for spurs. They were both incredibly hard shots to stop despite being near post.
