I wonder if this is some kind of media war between PSG and Barcelona since Barcelona wants to buy some PSG players, and so PSG decided to play some games with Barcelona by offering 200M for Neymar.

He would earn back every penny both on and off the field. If PSG can make it happen regardless of FFP, then you go for it, it's a no-brainer.

After Ibra left, PSG has fell a bit off the radar of world football imo, this would put them right back.

To be honest, every summer it's the same circus with Neymar and PSG ! Him and his dad have meeting with Nasser El Khelaifi (PSG's boss) to talk about salary and stuff, and then they come back to Barcelona's office saying "that's what PSG is giving me, so make an adjustment or I leave" !
But Neymar has a lot of prob with the spanish justice (so as Messi and Cristiano, Falcao who just paid a 8 million fee to the spanish state), so this could facilitate Neymar coming in Paris.
I'm a PSG fan from Paris, and a little bit disgusted by the huuuuge amount of money that is on the table for him now ! Weird feeling ! I want him to come or Sanchez (between 40 and 50 million) so i'll be happy with the game we'll play this year, but kinda hope it'll be Sanchez so I would have much more dignity so support PSG than if we spend 222 + 40 million per year million for someone who just run with a ball, even if he's one of the best ... not worth our dignity

Not really honestly ! When it's about football, french (like everybody in europe) go blind ! But We do have tax laws in France way harder and tougher than the rest of Europe, so these salaries will bring a lot of money for France ! That's why they allowed quatar to buy the club with such dirty money !

i just keep reading news about this ! And he has never been closer to Paris before ! Sounds that recruiting Daniel Alves, keeping Verratti, and already having a ton of brazilians ( Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, Lucas, Maxwell who is the new member on board for PSG), Di Maria, Cavani, Draxler, plus no financial limit ! Everything leads to thin that is the good time for a change for him, a new challenge ! but 222 million euros !! f*** man ! when the average year salary in France is barely 30 000 euros ... arf ! crazy world !

I'm fine with this one standing. This would be by far the biggest transfer in history if it happens and warrants its own thread.

That's a big if, though. Barcelona seem insistent that he's staying. PSG must have been really impressed by his diving and overall ability to con the ref in that 6-1 drubbing back in March. In all seriousness he's a very good player. There would undoubtedly be a drop in production no matter who they brought in to fill his boots, but I reckon Barca could find a quality replacement him four times over with that kind of money, especially given that LW is one of the most stacked positions in world football.

Psg gets a top 3 talent in the world.
Neymar gets to be " the man" instead of Messis robin and thus gets a chance to win Golden Ball.
Barcelona gets 222 millions they can spend 75 Millions on a top tier Centre Back 75 on a top Tier Defensive Milfielder and 75 on a top tier PROPER left wing ( wich neymar isnt).

Win, win win.

An other important info, Neymar's dad, who is also his agent, talked to PSG and said that he wants 100% of his son's right on his image (publicity, jerseys, everything about Neymar's merch) ! Dont know if PSG would say yes to that !

This would be an insane amount of money, even in the current market. The crazy thing is, in the current climate it's almost defensible. He's arguably a top 5 player in the world (if not, comfortably top 10) and hes only 25. Almost is the key word though. I can't see the logic in taking the world record transfer fee and adding £100 million to it. Surely Barcelona would have seriously considered the transfer at even £120 million.

Actually 222 Millions don't sound crazy cause of todays crazy costs for even average players... Liverpool is even set to sign Naby Keita from RB Leipzig for 83 Millions, and he played good for only 1 year!
