Who is your favourite to win 2018 FIFA World Cup?

Post#1 » by Oscar9992 » Fri Jul 28, 2017 12:52 pm

Who is your favourite to win 2018 FIFA World Cup?

Or who do you think have the most chances to win 2018 World Cup?

My personal favourite is: Germany

Honorable Mention: France, Belgium, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Italy, England, Chile, Portugal etc.

Some people see France as a favourite cause of their mega talented youngsters: Mbappe, Dembele, Pogba, Griezmann, Varane, Mendy, Bakayoko, Kante, Martial, Lemar etc.

But I think they aren't ready at all, just like Belgium national team with stars like Hazard, De Bruyne, Lukaku, Courtois, Kompany, Nainggolan, Mertens, Alderweireld etc.

They are not truly elite and still not ready to win such big International tournement...

Germany has the most experience out of all them... They are my favourites to win 2018 FIFA World Cup.

But Who is your favourite to win 2018 FIFA World Cup?

France will be a popular choice here, I think. If I had to pick a last four, it'd be Germany, Chile, France and Italy. I'd struggle to pick a winner out of those for WC2018.

France have the most promising crop of players (moreso than Belgium) but I think they will begin to hit their apex at around Euro 2020 and enter another golden age for French international football, similar to the late 90s/early 00s teams.

Its relatively open currently. No clear cut favorite. I believe it will be France in 2022 for sure.

That said, it will be a European team. Either France, Germany, Spain, Italy or Belgium

And Brazil, the players are there and they might have found the coach with tite, so who knows.

3 GErmany.

i will be surprised if its not germany as in if they dont win its a hell of a choke job.

Who else could potentialy win? Argentina i guess, or Rusia ( never discard de homejob by refs) .

France is not ready.

Brazil is a Mess

England always chokes.

Italy and Spain right now are sub par.

There hasn't been a back-to-back world champ since Brazil ('58 and '62). Germany has a great chance to do it, but it really is a difficult feat to accomplish. That said, they have to be the front runners. Hell, their bench squad just beat a damn good Chilean team that had their starters in the CC Final last month.

As long as Messi continues to play at a high level heading into the WC, you can never count out Argentina. And it has to feel like this is their last big chance to win it with him on the NT. He's going to turn 31 during the Cup.

Belgium is my sleeper pick. Got the experience of a good run in 2014 as a young team, sort of like Germany in 2010. If they truly work like a unit, which has been the big question with them, they certainly have the ability to get there.

current odds to win on bet365

Germany +550
France +650
Brazil +700
Spain +800
Argentina +900
Italy +1200
Belgium +1600
England +2000
Portugal +2500
Chile +2500
Colombia +3300
Russia +3300
Uruguay +3300
Netherlands +4000
Mexico +8000
USA +8000

I'd probably put money on Belgium, but I really dont even know much about international teams. I just know Lukaku is one of the best scorers in the PL, and De Bruyne is one of the best playmakers.

seems like it could bode well for them.

harder question: who do you think could win the Golden Boot?

I think Italy will make it to the final 4. They have a great crop of players right now.

Idk just a gut feeling, but the favorites have got to be France and Germany.

There is always a South-American squad that will over perform, so look out for Chile/Argentina/Brazil, at least one of them will hit their stride. I doubt it'll be Brazil, but stranger things have happened and I feel like they have less of a burden by not being a favourite compared to the last tournament in Brazil.

How is it that there were no votes for Spain? Their midfield is absurd, easily the best in the world and quality depth at all other positions.

At this point I think the favorites are Spain or Germany. France has the overwhelming talent to make the Final four, but they're not as organized as a team. Same with Brazil

Probably because of their disappointment at the last Euros and World Cup. Having said that, with rising players like Asensio and Isco and quality elsewhere like you said, they will be back on track sooner rather than later.

True but it seems they're moving away from the style of those teams and shifting to more of a youth movement, and I really think that can take them to new heights.

Spain's attacking style is so much more aggressive now yet they still have a balance of strong defense. They are my team to watch going into 2018 WC if they're in top form
