UEFA Nations League

Post#1 » by Ted Lasso » Thu Sep 21, 2017 6:59 am

One last brilliant idea by Michel Platini is about to come into our lives.

The whole thing is astoundingly contrived and unnecessary start to finish, but the best part is the method through which they will use the Nations League to determine four European Championship participants.

England are going to get relegated in a group with Italy, Spain, France, etc.

This does not sound like it will be a success. Sure, international breaks are boring now but I don't see this remedying it. I don't know, I'll wait and see I suppose, but my feeling upon just discovering this is that it's been unnecessarily shoehorned in.

Awesome! I hate International breaks. There are never any good games. Now we can have International el classicos. England vs France for example.

I like the fact that the Nations League will give minnows a chance to get some wins as they play against each other, instead of scheduling a friendly where they'll get drubbed despite playing a C-team.

Don't like the fact that each league gets one guaranteed slot, which gives one of the bottom 16 sides a ticket to Euro 2020. Waters down the competition. But then again, since Armenia have decided to keep their **** commissioner and keeping Movsisyan in exile, it'll be our best shot and Heno deserves a major tournament appearance.

Really excited with this. I love the idea of my club having key players injured in a worthless competition.

Why is it more worthless than the friendlies it replaces?

I suggest you support a team that doesn't have any international players if you feel like that.
