I hope Denmark draws Russia, Peru and Saudi Arabia:). On the other hand a draw with Germany, Spain and Serbia would be a disaster.

I mean, I'd say that I want England to get an 'easy' draw, but there's no such thing with England. Feels like we can't beat anybody in a big tournament.

Hope they prove me wrong next summer.

Pity that they've changed seedning system. Used to be based on geography rather than the world ranking.

For example in 2014 it was:

Pot 1: The host nation Brazil + top 7 in the world rankings
Pot 2: Africa + South America
Pot 3: Asia + North America
Pot 4: Europe

It makes the group stages much more exciting having teams from different continents with completely different styles playing against each other. That's the beauty of the World Cup. You also ended up having 2 or 3 very tasty looking groups.

I'm not sure about Asia, Africa and Europe but South America is controlled that they can't play one another in group stage.

For instance, Argentina & Brazil being in pot 1 can't play vs Colombia, Uruguay or Peru in group stage. Thus the chances of hitting Spain, Switzerland,Enlgand,Mexico and Croatia are higher for them.(like a legit possibility of Argentina/Spain group or Brazil/Spain group.

Europe I figured it was just too many countries to avoid.

I wonder if Africa having reps in Pot 3 and 4 have the same ruling? I think so, I don't recall a sim that showed two african teams together.

With the US choking it and Armenia still being minnow-esque, going to have hope my great-grandparents motherland of Sjrbia can make some noise. Using the ultra simulator about a dozen times, best group I saw was: Poland, Mexico & Tunisia. Worst was Brazil, Spain & Costa Rica.

Yeah can't have more than 1 team from any confederation and don't think there can be more than 2 european teams in a group either which would mean that the order the pots are drawn is very important. Is it drawn pot 1 then pot 2 then pot 3 or is it random?

Ah ok. Makes sense.

They'll draw the pots in full before moving on to next pot.

Russia as host will be first of pot 1 drawn to group A.. then the succeeding pot 1 countries will be drawn to group b c d e f g h... In order.
