If Liverpool is going to lose this, Tot or MC need to get hot and beat Liverpool head to head. Certainly possible. I kind of think Chelsea, Arsenal and Man U are out of title consideration.

Liverpool has Arsenal and then at Man City in the next 7 days. That will tell a lot.

If it comes down to a Spurs vs. Liverpool head to head at Anfield, I'd bank on Liverpool for that. Spurs record against Liverpool is atrocious in recent seasons, barring last season's 4-1 and the flukey 2-2.

The one thing that works well in Spurs' favour imo is the amount of away games we've played already, so there's a disproportionate amount of home games to come. Wembley isn't exactly our home ground but our form there has been pretty good, though I'm still kinda disappointed about the new stadium situation.

Didn't see that. 11 of 19 at home is certainly nice. Tot has two games to circle. At Man City and at Anfield. If they can draw those or better they stand a good chance of near running the table on everything else. If they lose both, then it would be tough for them.

In general, its nice that all three of the top teams play attacking ball and Arsenal too. Maybe the rest of the league will get in on it.

Gotta say...for all the money involved...there are some dreadful teams at the end of the table.

While Liverpool is certainly in great form currently, Newcastle looked like an amateur team next to them. Whopping 24% possession of the ball with just over 60% of passes completed. These are mind-blowing numbers for a team labelled as professional.

It truly shows the difference in quality and money.

If you ever watch games in the lower tier divisions you can see the lack in real skills and fundamentals. They lack precise passing, ball control, speed, physicality.

It is no wonder that some players come to the Premier League and are gone within a year or sooner.

I was shaking my head as well at Newcastle. Liverpool are a treat to watch, but there is no way a professional team should be getting danced around by another squad like that.

Way too much season left to start getting excited. I liked the comment today: "8 of the last 10 seasons....the team leading at Christmas has won the league. The two exceptions, of course, being Liverpool"

Been there, done this. Beat Arsenal, and have a really strong January. We'll talk in Feb

I don't think Newcastle will ever be good again with Mike Ashley as the owner. It's all well and good having the TV money, but it's no guarantee of being a good team, especially if you invest it in mediocre players like they have.

I like this, because I can remember that day fondly. The season isn't over until it's over.

The start of the month Citeh had a 2 point lead on everyone else. Look at where we are now.

Our defending is really shambolic.
Just get that ball out of there instead of trying to play it nice.
