Did USA lose on purpose to avoid Russia? (political stance)

As the title suggests.
Only needed a draw against lowly Trinidad. But lost. If they boycotted Russia then FIFA would've sanctioned USA.

So they threw the game on purpose instead.

Russia is being punished by the IOC, look at latest winter olympics.

If they lost on purpose because politcs they are dumb as ****.

To miss the biggest stage in football because of politics is the worst thing that can happen to an international team. Shame on them.

there were other results in play last game, if they were gonna lose on purpose they would have done it in previous games to guarantee it

We just aren't any good. No offense to the fine folks from Trinidad but not a good look for the sport in our country. It is unfortunate. I'm not a huge soccer fan, but really enjoy the World Cup and cheering for the home country in the event.

No. Wish USA taken the CONCACAF 4th place/inter-continental playoff spot to play against Australia instead of Honduras. And I'm Honduran.

Of course they didn't. They just suck. Why do people always when USA loses have to make it like they did it on purpose, didn't try, sent their reserve team etc... They simply sucked and coudln't beat freaking Panama.
