The curse continues.

(Was living in England in 1990 during the World Cup; I loved that team so much. I'm still bummed about the Germany game 30 years later.)

Unlike the offsides call, they've shown about 20 replays on that one. Still cannot tell if she got clipped or not. I wanna say no way, but hard to imagine she'd whiff that bad right in front of goal. Either way, I've definitely seen worse fouls than that.

Not to get too political, but I'm convinced that the first British party to run on a platform of mandatory PK practice will dominate the political landscape for decades.
It's time for 5 refs.

I loved that team too. Psycho, Gazza and Lineker. That Waddle penalty will live on forever in infamy, which is a shame as it sullied a good run.

What's irritating is that England teams are finally starting to get pretty good again, but still not quite good enough. It does feel like a curse.

Congrats USA. It could have been different, but it wasn't to be. Semi-final exit run continues.

Gary, Waddle and Platt were my favorites. That was right around the time I got into sports, so that might have been my first big sporting heartbreak.

Anyways, good performance today. Not used to seeing our defense sliced up like that.

Oh yeah, it was a good spectacle and advert for the women's game. Both teams gave it their all. I can't see Holland or Sweden toppling the USA though, I feel like it's gonna be back-to-back world cups.

Not so sure. Some of US firepower is banged up and Sweden tanked a bit in group matchup. Both teams are ready.

Great goal from Lavelle to finish it off. Great WC from USWNT.

Great tournament, made my uncle a soccer fan, for me, soccer noob-ish, high quality of play. Lots of good teams.

Kind of funny to me that Morgan drew a PK, Megan kicked it and thus passed up Morgan for the most goals. ;o

It was a very good tournament. shame that the USA won and detracted from the world progression of the sport but nevertheless women's football was a winner.

VAR was very worrying though - and I'm a great supporter of it - complete mess in that competition.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders
