Why is England considered a favorite?
I really think they aren't.

I noticed some of the matches are schedule for 9 PM in Europe. That means 3 PM in NY and 12 PM in CA.

Did they push the start times back for American TV?

It would have to be a miracle for England to win it. We have the worst coach in the tournament, and a team without structure or tactical discipline.

To compound things, nobody seems to know what the best starting XI is, including Southgate.

It's just the media.

England have a crap manager and no bottle and a lot of players who are up themselves. Grealish would need to be the player of the tournament for us to win.

Expecting Fernando Santos to whip out a rotation of:

GK: Saint Patrick (Wolverhampton)

Cancelo (Man. City)
Ruben Dias (Man. City)
Pepe (FC Porto)
Raphael Guerreiro (Dortmund)

Bernardo Silva (Man. City)
Danilo (PSG)
Sérgio Oliveira (FC Porto)
Jota (Liverpool)

God (Juventus)
João Félix (Atl. Madrid)

Off the bench

DF: Semedo (Wolverhampton)
CB: José Fonte (Lille)
DM: William Carvalho (Lille)
CM: João Moutinho (Wolverhampton)
CM: Renato Sanches (Lille)
AM: Bruno Fernandes (Man Utd)
AM: Rafa (Benfica)
FW: Andre Silva (Frankfurt)

Bruno off the bench due to poor conditioning. Bernardo Silva's conditioning in summer tournaments is usually sub-par as well, so I wouldn't be surprised to see coach Fernando Santos going with a 4-3-3, considering also our depth at def. midfield.

In that case it's a midfield with Danilo, Sérgio Oliveira, and one of Moutinho, William Carvalho (who's game I absolutely love), or Renato Sanches, with the attacking trio of Felix, Jota, and Cristiano.

Southgate would only play three attack minded players against San Marino. It's insane how defensive he thinks.
I would play like this:

GK: Johnstone
DR: Walker
DC: Stones, Maguire
DL: Chillwell
MC: Rice, Henderson
AMR: Sancho
AMC: Mount
AML: Grealish
S: Kane

Maguire and Henderson aren't match fit right? Then I would play Foden/Philips and Coady/White (I rate White higher tbf).

I'm not ready for this.
A full month of lessons, tasks, work, exams and the Euros.

Madness.

There is always a second try for those exams.

Seems like I will be heavily consuming this as well.
Ruined my thigh muscle the other day…at least another 4 weeks until I am back on the pitch myself :nonono:

Just work and Euros the next couple weeks.

Predictions for todays opening match? Turkey is one of these dark horses to me, they certainly looked good in last few matches they played. I say they upset Italy 2-1.

Shoutout to Massimo's boy Burak Yilmaz. Had an amazing season to help bring Lille the Ligue 1 title, and I think he might be able to do some damage tonight if Italy aren't careful.

Think Yilmaz was about the only time his hot takes were correct.

Meanwhile Turkey is still starting scrubs like Karaman and former Mainz benchwarmer Maxim is destroying Süper Lig

Italy should think about moving without the ball.

They might win this game then.

Nope, it's 3-0. Turkey have been really poor today, looked completely gassed the whole second half.
