Once again Bayern had a rough fall and bounced back to win the league.
After losing 5-1 at Frankfurt they fired Nico Kovac and brought in Hansi Flick who got them back to pressing and playing a fantastic style of football which resulted in a 16-1-0 record during the second half of the season and yet another Bundesliga title.
And just like last season they also won the german cup, beating Bayer Leverkusen pretty easily.
Joining them in next years Champions League will be Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Borussia Moenchengladbach.
Bayern Leverkusen and TSG Hoffenheim qualified for the Europa League group stages while Wolfsburg has a chance to join them, if they're able to get through those qualifying rounds.
Düsseldorf and Paderborn were relegated into the 2nd Bundesliga, while Stuttgart and Bielefeld were able to secure promotion into the first flight of german football.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Surprises of last season:
Union Berlin
After securing promotion in a playoff matchup with Stuttgart they were able to stay up in a pretty solid fashion with hardly ever being threatened to closely with relegation.
SC Freiburg
The Streich led club once again was able to show how well managed and run they are, competing for a european spot all season and just falling short after the re-start.
Dissapointments of last season:
Schalke 04:
Once again Schalke managed to dissapoint.
After starting out well and finishing the first half of the season with 30 points and a CL spot they fell flat completely during the second half of the season.
Schalke only managed nine points during those final 17 games of the season and only won once(18th game of the season) during the second half, and winnless during the final 16 games of the season.
Things also don't really look up for them as they're hit pretty hard by the Corona Virus and it's financial effects, especially thanks to their bad management of their finances in years past.
Werder Bremen:
After finishing in the top half of the table last season and trying to qualify for Europe this past season, they fell flat and got incredibly lucky to stay up.
They only won two games at home and were helped by the Corona break, as they got a couple of players back to somehow finish 16th and were able to survive the relegation playoffs against Heidenheim thanks to away goals.

Preview:
The transfer market this time around will be incredibly hard to predict and different from past seasons so I'm not going to go into detail with that.
Overall, Bayern is the clear cut favourite to win it again with Dortmund being tasked to close the gap and maybe challenge Bayern more than last season.
Other than that, the race for those final Champons League and Europa League spots will be interesting to watch.
We've had the same top five for the past two seasons(only Gladbach and Leverkusen switched places) and Wolfsburg only dropped one spot to seventh place.
Also, Hertha Berlin will be able to spend a good amount of money(unlike a lot of other Bundesliga teams) and will try to push for one of those spots in Europe.
There it is, the discussion thread for the upcoming season of the Bundesliga.
I hope you've enjoyed the intro and are interested in discussing everything about the league in here.
So let's enjoy the ride...
