Who are the favorites to get the job?

I read somewhere Graham Potter is one of the possibilities. Wouldn't be a bad choice imo.

I’m still baffled by the decision to sack Mourinho a week ahead of a cup final against Pep.

While I think ruling with an iron fist no longer works in this era, I don’t know how anyone could think that Ryan Mason would get the team to perform better than Mourinho would.

Levy unnecessarily jeopardized (and ultimately lost) the Spurs chances of winning a trophy and at the very least guaranteeing Europa League football. Unless Kane supported sacking Mourinho, how would this level of instability and dysfunction convince a star to come to Spurs, let alone stay with them (if you’re Kane)?

The potential of finishing below Arsenal after the season they’ve had is truly baffling.

I agree with your assessment, but I think there's more to the Mourinho sacking than we're privy to. I don't think it's a coincidence that it happened on the same day that the Super League fiasco was announced. There were probably some internal squabbles going on between Jose and Levy.

Mason is woefully out of his depth. I don't blame him at all, it's ludicrous that he was given the job even on an interim basis, but to have him helm a cup final in his second game, as the youngest coach in PL history, is unconscionable.

As for the state of the season, it falls on everyone. While the recruitment has been terrible (how do you not sign an experienced CB?) I blame the players mostly. They hide and play scared when things get difficult, Kane included, for three coaches now. It's exhausting supporting this team. The owners are bilking the fans and trying to sell them on a luxury product when we're actually getting an economy one. I haven't felt this disillusioned since I was a kid supporting the club in the late 90s aka the George Graham and Christian Gross era, even though the club's stature has arguably grown a lot since then. There's absolutely nothing to feel any kind of pride about.

If we bring in a manager that inspires some confidence and is up for the challenge, that might change.

I think you should go for a manager that plays attractive football and plays young guys. Chris Wilder is a great coach and would be good for you. Bielsa would have been good after Poch. Howe would be a good choice but we know that Levy has to go for an international "name" so I doubt any of them get the job.

He would be an excellent choice but I don't see Levy going on the English route.

Speaking of Liverpool. they have the excuse of a lot of injuries, like Leicester, but last season they finished 37 points ahead of Leicester. If the trend continues they're looking at relegation next season How badly were the top 3 affected by injuries this season?

I guess that Pep will get coach of the season but I think that Brendan, Moyes, Bielsa and Hodgson should all be in with a shout when you look at squad and situational comparisons.

The so called "big 6" is very much a financial tag so even though Leicester have finished in the top 5 for 2 consecutive seasons I don't see us entering that grouping. However I wonder if the "Big 6" has become a "Big 5" now?

It's a big 4 and has been for a while, imo. United, City, Liverpool and Chelsea are the real heavyweights of this league. Arsenal and Spurs don't belong in any conversations about "big" anything unless it's "big waste of space". But you're correct that the labelling is based on finances.

Potter appears to be one of the common names bandied about, but reliable Spurs insiders seem to think it's going to be someone else that hasn't really been mentioned, and the club are being intentionally tight-lipped about it. His Brighton team is a stathead's wet dream, their xG is through the roof but conversion rate is appalling, as you'd expect from such a limited squad. That's intriguing, as is his success as Ostersunds. I suppose the main draw is that he'd have better attacking players to work with at Spurs to convert some of those chances created.

As for me, I'm sceptical as ever. It's hard to be enthusiastic about anything involving this club right now. I'd be behind Potter if we got him, though.

I believe those valuation roughly line up to revenues worldwide. Not just tickets for match days but jersey sales around the world, TV rights fees, etc.

I think Arsenal was up there when Emirates was built. Now do fans have to pay more for tickets at a new stadium than they used to? That is certainly the case in the US for all team sports.

Last week of the season is very hectic. I expect Liverpool and Leicester to win. Could see us bottling tbh.
