Liverpool, in recent years especially, has established itself as a global brand. Especially in the US.

But that must still not mean enough jersey sales to let them spend with the big boys?

United had huge global revenues, only Real Madrid and Barca rivaled it. Not sure if they still do but they seem to be able to spend.

This is potentially their best opportunity to compete financially with the other rich clubs.

United spend. They've just spent foolishly. The Glazers aren't good owners.

FSG have ran the club well. Very well in fact. But they haven't always been willing to spend.

Don't get me wrong, a forward was needed with injuries to Díaz and Jota. Playing Oxlade-Chamberlain, as he did today against Aston Villa, likely results in the club missing out on top 4.

The more worrying aspect is how Liverpool continues to skip over the required midfield help.

Why is Liverpool overstocking on attackers? It's the most expensive and risky position to buy. The club could do with more traditional wingers (especially on the right) because with Salah paired with so many specialized attackers the 433 and 4231's always be imbalanced. I think the club should extend Firmino's contract as well. The only benefit I can see from this transfer is that the club won't have to make an attacking purchase next summer when the ownership transition may happen, but given how unsettled the forwards in the squad aside from Salah are it seems a weak one.

What do you want us to say? Clubs are relishing having Liverpool on their schedule, knowing fully well they can wreak havoc through the middle. Even before the season began, Liverpool fans, including me, were calling for a rebuild of the midfield.

- Henderson (aging and injury prone)
- Thiago (aging and injury prone)
- Fabinho (not sure what has happened to him)
- Milner (aging, last year of contract)
- Ox (injury prone, last year of contract)
- Keita (injury prone, last year of contract)

All we've been told is money will only be spent on the right player. Instead, their response was to bring in Arthur on loan. I don't believe he's played in a PL match. To make matters worse, the attack (Diaz, Firmino and Jota) has been hit by long-term injuries.

Fans have turned on the owners, especially when they see the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal reinforcing.

Should've been a red for Konate and Fabinho today.

Chelsea are in worse straits in all aspects. Any chance Klopp leaves/is sacked?

I would completely gut the club of everything else except for Klopp, before I even consider his position. I'm sure most Liverpool fans would agree with that as well. If he walks, which I don't think he will as he adores Liverpool, that's a different story, I suppose.

It would be the ultimate nail in the coffin for FSG if they sacked Klopp, there would be mass protests.

If FSG is really planning to sell they would want to keep Klopp till that ends and is probably mainly why they extended his contract recently, but I could see the transition going the way of Chelsea's year and Klopp becoming a zombie for the new owner. That's why I asked about leaving.

This part is more speculative, but I think Klopp rather than FSG is behind 3 straight striker signings who either never fully developed to potential or fully integrated. Liverpool's management has balanced and adapted to correct for some of Klopp's worst biases like fullback and goalkeeper position corrections. I also doubt FSG is driving keeping most of the old guys Baseline mentioned (though I think Hendo, Thiago, Fabinho should be kept). All those are Klopp problems that were there in his Dortmund and Mainz sides.

News of Konate suffering an injury in the match with Brighton.

The amount of team injuries are unexplainable:

To be honest, I'd rather remove half the current roster before firing Klopp. He squeezed as much as one can out of this bunch. I read an interesting tweet the other day stating Fabinho (29) has played as many minutes as an average 34-year old.

Keep in mind, it was Klopp who pushed Manchester City. Though Liverpool only won the PL once, he finished second twice (over 90+ points: 2019 - 97, 2022 - 92). The same Manchester City once again under scrutiny, this time by the PL.

Unbelievable how little LFC has spent under Klopp. It boggles my mind how FSG doesn't invest...

Agreed, but that's thanks to good sales, they've actually spent quite a lot. And then there is the salary they pay out too.

The first four clubs on that list are LFC's competition to hold onto a top-4 place in the PL. Tottenham, who is paying off a new stadium, has outspent Liverpool by £146M.

I will give you the salary, though.
