I can't wait till we play USA lol, should be some quality banter on here and socials.

I hope Ghana get their revenge on Uruguay for what happened the last time with Suarez.

Canada potentially have the group of death.

I can see Senegal topping their group also quite easily tbh.

I can't wait for The World Cup to start!

Not to mention USA vs. Iran and possible England vs. Scotland/Wales match-ups. Definitely a fun group.

I agree that Senegal should win their group. I didn't know how stacked their team was until I watched them in the AFCON. Mane, Mendy, Koulibaly, Sarr, etc.

Oh yes! How can I forget about USA vs Iran, that group is going to be really fun.

Yeah not a lot of people realise it, but Senegal are stacked! Also they have promising young players coming through the ranks, I hope we do get an African team one day winning the world cup it feels so overdue.

Def. don't mind America's group. We can lose to all three, and very like will to England, but it shouldn't take Herculean efforts to beat Iran and whoever comes out of the playoff. Put another way, it could have been a LOT worse.

Lets go!!!!! Lost out on Colombia playing(but per their performance led disgustingly by Rueda deserved it) but Uruguay has a fighters chance....

Sucks that potentially in knockout round, we could face Brazil this early... bahhhh

Spain and Germany has to be the group of death right?

World Cup and Qatar in the same sentence, what a travesty.

Two teams (at least) qualify don't they?

There really isn't a group of death. You can almost book the last 16 teams right now. Boring.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders

What the hell, they don’t play until November?

Because of desert heat?

How is that going to work with domestic and UCL schedules?

Clubs won’t be happy if star players are injured to play domestic league and UCL matches.

WC will go from November 21 until December 18 and there will be no domestic league and UCL matches during that time.

Sure but they're playing a lot of matches in a relatively short period of time, assuming they only have a week or two off before and after the WC matches.

I guess no international breaks though.

There are a lot of players who won't be playing in the world cup.

The price we all have to pay for Jack Wagner and Sepp Blatter to have their bribes. I hope the ratings will be a disaster on both sides on the atlantic

Not sure I'll listen to them all but The Ringer has made a podcast called 22 Goals, about presumably the 22 most consequential goals in WC history.

They're about an hour each.

https://www.theringer.com/2022/8/3/23290619/introducing-22-goals

I think the podcaster said he's a relatively new fan of the sport. Then of course the second strike is that he's an American.

Maybe some American fans will find some value in it.

For ethical reasons I've decided I'm not going to watch but I'll still read about the games.

It's hard to say. At the moment, I feel nothing and I just want the club season to continue. I might change my mind when the football starts, but at the moment I can scarcely believe there's a world cup around the corner. There's precious little hype. We're also seeing players pulling out of challenges, not risking their bodies, etc. in league matches to protect themselves going into the world cup.

FIFA have dropped a bollock on this one, to say the least.

Agreed.

Honestly speaking I have never been less prepared for a WC.

I don’t even know who the German opponents are.
And can’t even bother to look it up despite the groups being at the top of this thread.
