What on earth happened in that Argentina-Morocco game?!? I’m on vacation and wasn’t able to tune in to any games or really get the full scoop, but this seems diabolical

So, in the 14th(!) minute of injury time or whatever it was, Argentina scored a chaotic equalizer after a scrimmage in the goal mouth, with lots of attempts before it finally went in. Directly after that, Moroccan fans came onto the field, which had happened before during the match. The referee suspended the play and had the stadium cleared before resuming, which took like 90 minutes. Some people wrongly assumed he had whistled for the end of the match. Play resumed, the 2-2 was reviewed by the VAR and an offside was found, and thus the goal was disallowed. Since it happened in the final seconds, the match was over and Morocco won 2-1.

It obviously stings if you're on the losing end of that, but technically the ref did what he had to do, I think. Argentina should be fine and go through, anyway. The big fault is that the stadium wasn't a safe space for the players and coaches to play the match.

Anyway, speaking of scandalous soccer news, who knew the Canadians were such cheats? TSN: Canada's men's and women's soccer teams have relied on drones and spying for years, sources say I didn't think it's own thread would get much use, but I did wanna pass it on to people who are watching Olympic soccer. The Canada women's soccer head coach has since been suspended (and sent home from Paris) pending investigation and I think the involved staffers got sacked.

Why was the guy who scored the last goal wearing a sports bra? When he took his jersey off while he was celebrating, you could he was wearing something that looks like a sports bra. :o

I think most if not all top-level footballers wear these nowadays. They include tech to track heart rate, distance covered, etc. and need to be skintight to function, as I understand it.
It's time for 5 refs.

Not bad.
Pity the girls craped in their bed.

Cant wait for World Cup.
