I am not a close follower of Serie A, but have watched Juventus last 2 friendlies, just to see how Dougie Luiz has fit in.

He's looked VERY good in those games and think he will have a fantastic season for them

He’s been perhaps the lone bright spot for a struggling juve squad both on the field and in the transfer market. They’ve been in need of complete center mid for a while now…laughably it was supposed to be Pogba last season and we all know how that turned out

In fact, as this summer comes to an end, I am feeling like their current sporting director
Giuntoli (who assembled Napoli’s scudetto winning squad) is sabotaging the team. He’s replaced Rabiot with Douglas Luiz and Thuram, as well as getting rid of Allegri. Good moves. But since then:

He’s sold Soule to Roma and Huijsen to Bournemouth… only to attempt to replace Soule with a lesser player (Fiorentina’s Nico Gonzales for 30m…and he may not even be able to pull that move off as Fiorentina seek to block it)

Meanwhile, he’s looking to add Kalulu from Milan when anybody with common sense would have kept 19 year old starlet Huijsen for the same position.

Him and Motta have agreed to freeze Chiesa out of the squad and replace him with nobody, but they’re failing to even get any money for him, and can’t find any takers for the several other players they’re dismissing at the moment…including sczesny and mckennie who are coming off fantastic seasons.
He’s got less than a week until the season starts and two weeks until transfer window ends to make himself seem competent in this job. And Thiago Motta is going to learn very quickly that coaching at a Juventus is a different animal than coaching at Bologna

I was very surprised they sold Huijsen to Bournemouth, as there are BIG wraps on him and would have thought holding onto him for another 12 months would have seen even larger money come if he or they then wanted out.

And also surprised with the Chiesa situation. Such a quality player seems crazy the way they are treating him

Inter drop points in Genoa after an unlucky PK conceded in stoppage time that Sommer actually blocked but conceded the rebound. 2-2. love to see it

Milan come back from 2-0 down to also draw 2-2 vs Torino. Morata scored his first goal for the rossoneri off the bench

Good luck and make sure to beat Juve and Milan.

Considering Napoli's lack of funds and conte's track record, I can only assume that things will end UGLY between Conte and De Laurentiis. But he's certainly the right man for the job until then.

Meanwhile, Paulo Fonseca takes over at Milan. He did not impress anyone during his stint at Roma...it's giving serious Rudi Garcia to Napoli vibes

The day before Napoli's opening match, Conte is already revealing how unhappy it is. It is totally understandable given the circumstances -- the Osimhen situation has not been resolved and he is not with the squad, and Conte's favorite player on planet earth Lukaku looks no closer to joining Napoli than he did in June.
Still, it feels safe to assume that this may end very ugly much sooner than even I expected

Dybala leaving Roma to join Saudi club Al-Qadsiah

EDIT: it appears he may be rejecting this move and all 75m that would’ve come with it.

Fonseca is feeling the heat after just two games after Milan looked confused in their 2-1 loss vs Parma. There's plenty of time to turn things around, but we all saw this coming

I was surprised Motta gave Yildiz number 10, he didnt look ready in euros, but early returns look good for him and Juve even if the competition wasnt the best. They have lot of great looking young talent with Mbangula, Savona etc. future looks very bright even if they dont get it done this year.

Motta has been making me eat my words so far. He had a clear vision and although it's still early, he is executing and showing why he preferred certain players.
It seems Yildiz is given a lot of freedom in Motta's formation and I expect him to thrive. I agree it seemed a bit too early for a 19 year old to get the #10, but he's going to be a star for us for many years to come. In fact I don't think people realize just how good he's going to be.

Juve alone at the top after two 3-0 wins...next week we face a Roma team who have tied Cagliari and lost to Empoli so far.
Milan also only have 1 point after two games. Fonseca is in the hot seat already after they looked all out of sorts over the weekend

Yeah but that creates a problem as Guler's best position is also number 10, who is going to play number 10 for us for the next fifteen years? :)

Great problem to have, hope Montella figures out a way to maximize both.

Koopmeiners to Juve is finally complete. With Koopmeiners, Douglas Luiz, Thuram, Fagioli, and Locatelli in midfield, we have the best midfield we've had in a long time.
Meanwhile, Rabiot is still looking for a club to pay his crazy wage demands

After four games, Inter and Juve remain unbeaten with 2 wins and 2 draws, but it is Conte's Napoli who are atop the table with three wins after their opening defeat. Lukaku scored one and assisted two yesterday...put him on Conte's team and he's elite

After picking up 3 draws and a loss to start the season, Roma fired De Rossi -- 8 months after they hired him to replace Jose Mourinho, who won them the Conference League and then almost the Europa League.
I was always under the impression that they weren't under performing - they just weren't good enough...and this still remains true. They replace him with Ivan Juric, who I think is a very good coach, previously in charge of Verona then Torino. He's now got a tough task ahead of him

Juve with three 0-0 draws in a row, but at least they look 100x better under Motta than under Allegri.

Milan beat Inter 2-1, probably should've won by even more, saving Fonseca's job for now. Great first goal by Pulisic

I'm still buzzing over Yildiz entering the game and scoring 2 goals to tie this one up and rescue a point for Juve in Milano.

Atalanta gave Napoli the beatdown in Naples yesterday 3-0. Lookman and Retegui (11 goals in 11 games) is the best striker duo in the league by a longshot. Atalanta are a real threat to win the league, along with Napoli, Inter, and maybe Juve.

here's how the top of the table stands thus far:
Napoli 25
Inter 24
Atalanta 22
Fiorentina 22
Juve 21
Lazio 19
Milan 17
