Spain should go through and could be interesting to see who else makes it. My pick would be Sweden.

Spain arguably has the most dangerous striker group in the tournament and should go through without a problem in this relatively weak group.

I ll go with Sweden for second place. another great tournament team with couple difference maker players. Dont rule out Russia as they have a good and very experienced coach along with some raw talent.

i also see spain as the strongest team in this group, they have a very balanced team, but after all it's spain, let's see if they don't finish choking.

i agree, hiddink always manages to surprise everyone.

i won't count sweden out, but i will deffinitelly cound greece out.

Spain and Sweden will go through.
Russia are the outsiders, but they may surprise by playing hard and with devotion.

Sweden may upset Spain because they did it once in qualifyings at home and could finish 1st eventually. Their joker is of course Zlatan, who's the lone star in this team. But the team itself represents a good collective that could cause troubles to European super - powers.

Russia should thank Croatia for the rest of their life because they didn't deserve the 2nd spot. It was basically 10 good minutes against England at home that helped them win 2 - 1, the rest of the game they were tactically dominated, even if McLaren is not by far a great tactician.

Greece had the easiest group in qualifyings( but my Moldova almost beat them at home and lost just 0 -1 on the road ). For the first time I think they are like a dark horse even if they had a couple of good friendly games. They may cause an upset too, remember 2004, it was terrible...

Spain, they're the favourites. You don't need to survey the squad. Spain has always had great players and they've been strong for some time now. The real problem is that, as I suppose, they can't play against well - disciplined teams that play hard in defense ( they had a friendly game in november '06 against Romania at home, a team that is solid, but not as strong as Spain. Spaniards were outplayed so easy, even if Romania won 1 - 0. Simply outplayed ! ).
That's been the problem for Spain throughout the years. Expect them to make the quarter-finals, but not more. They're gonna play against one of the teams from group C!
That group is scary ! Unlucky Romania. I'll root for them !

i'am from spain and we will be out in the 1/4's like always, we don't have a plan B, all the strikers are more second strikers, we don't have a finisher like tamudo or morientes, we don't have a good defensive midfielder, and the defense, except ramos, all suck.

Tough one to call. I remember what happened the last time we counted Greece out......lol but if that happened again it'd be hard for me to ever take this tournament seriously again.

I'd say Spain and Sweden move on but looking back at recent trends Russia may go on because Italy always seems to face Hiddink(south korea in 2002, Australia 2006)

Ibra vs Torres should be fun. Sweden, much like Inter, goes as far as Ibra will take them.

Torres is really the definition of over-rated.

Sorry, but

You remember who is the REIGNING EUROPEAN CHAMPION???

If you underestimate Greece (as everybody did last time), watch Otto Rehhagel make mince meat of everyone again.

Spain will dominate this group, become over hyped and get beaten by an underdog in the quarters like it happens every time.
First the federal government borrowed money; then gave the money to Bank of America; then I borrowed some of that money from Bank of America and gave it to the federal government; then the federal government gave the money back to Bank of America.

Spain goes thru fo sho. They have a history of disapointing despite having huge amounts of talent, but they usually don't choke till the knock out stages.

Sweden shud finish 2nd, bet Kim Kallstrom comes up big.

Russia, and specially Greece have what it takes to pull off an upset and finish 2nd.

Werd...his goal talley with the national team is something like 13 goals in 43 games...from a top notch striker? Villa is the better player, no diss to Fernando he had a great season with Liverpool.

Spain will miss one guy. You guys may have heard of him, he plays for Real Madrid...

Morientes 27 goals in 47 games, thats a good finisher.

Who will miss from Madrid? Soldado?

I'm looking at Torres to continue his scoring exploits in the international arena. He looked sharp every moment he was on the pitch with Liverpool and he'll have better if not similar level of talent to work with on the spanish national team. He could well be the tournament's top scorer if Spain can break their jinx in big competitions.

I was thinking the Captain of Real...he's quite in form at the moment. Only Villa is better than him from the striker core.
