And Istanbul explodes in celebration yet again!

Turks are like a cock-ka-roach that you just can't kill! Well at least it was fun for them until they meet Germany in the semis...where they will be done.

Wow what a game! But Germany will probably beat Turkey in the semi-finals.

... wednesday vs. Turkey, sunday vs. Holland.
Good thing uni finished early this semester. These next few days will be CRAZY!!!
This game against Turkey will break every single viewing-record in Germany. I thought it wasn't possible, but this could be bigger than the WC 2006 here. Wow!

Minus the defense this Turkish team resembles allot the Greek team that won four years ago... pure heart and determination.

COLLECTIVE TURKISH ORGASM.

Wow, I simply am at loss for words. Everybody was fleeing in shame when Klasnic headed that goal, and then BOOM, Semih makes the equalizer. Then, Turks demolish Croats after penalties, and then, a whole nation loses its accountability in the most positive way.

I officially declare Turkey the "people's champion" of the EC 2008.

I honestly wonder how long ElTurco will live. I mean, after these 3 last games, his heart must be that of a 100-year old!! :)

Turkey is an easy team to cheer for on this Euro. Kudos, and good luck vs Germany.

now that i stopped shaking and took my dad to clinic,

NE MUTLU TURKUM DIYENE!

i just went through some of the most emotional phone calls with friends who have been going through most stressful time of their life by entering university exams and family that i havent seen in years. and these are people who are doing well in Turkish standards, i can only imagine joy of people who are trying to support family of four with less than 500$ a month income. One sport event can mean only this much to a nation, that probably explains perseverance of Turkish NT. I dont expect us to advance past semis but i am very proud of my boys, not because where they got but how they got there.

To come to the game one thing our coach needs to understand WE CAN NOT PLAY LIKE FRIGGIN GREEKS. To play well in Greek style football you need to have a good defense and you need to be good at dead ball situations. We are the worst team in the tournament in both categories. We need to control the possession in the midfield and have players run it to empty space. If not we will get destroyed by any team that have a strong finisher(unlike Croats), let alone be competitive. Once we started playing possession football in overtime, we dominated the game and had our best chances-ironically we allowed a goal but that was a mistake that wont be repeated.

I would ve given us at least 50 percent chance against Germans if we had a full team but we are now missing our entire midfield along with defense line, which is probably too much to overcome. One thing stands in our side is we have nothing to lose.

Now if you excuse me, i am going to start my 5 day binge drinking after a heart check up.
