If the Portuguese don't win it and I won't have to see Fröjdfeldt ever again, I'll be a happy camper. :) That guy is the worst ref right now and he keeps getting big games somehow.

Until now, teams who attack get rewarded (NED, TUR, POR), and teams who turtle up in defense get punished (CZE, GRE). I would not mind if this continues...

A lot of the traditional powerhouse teams are struggling. France, Italy, and Germany have been disappointing. And I had hoped that Czech Republic, Greece, and Switzerland would've played better.

Until now, this tourney has been very fun to watch. Great games, offense dominating defense, and the general feeling that "good offense is the best defense", which certainly is not the worst way to see an attractive match. 2.38 goals per game is a high ratio, and as I said before, it is nice to see that attacking teams get rewarded and defensive teams get eliminated. Here my short team evaluations:

POR: Started out as favorites and still are. Won their group. B+
TUR: Crap defenders, but you cannot measure heart. B+
CZE: Very unlucky, but honestly shot themselves in their own foot. C
SUI: Supremely unlucky, always competitive but always misfortune. C+

CRO: Comfortably won their group. Dangerous. A
GER: Started good, but then just scraped through. C+
AUT: Were much better than most feared. B
POL: Not that bad, but gutless when it mattered. D+

NED: Obliterated everybody in the Group of Death. A+
ITA: Almost eliminated, but clawed their way back. C+
ROM: Just lacked that bit of cold bloodedness to move on. B-
FRA: Big disappointment, were not even close to qualifying. E

ESP: Surprisingly cold blooded, but can they avoid the choke? A
RUS: That hi-tempo soccer is so pleasant to see. B+
SWE: Notg that bad, but horribly choked at the end. D+
GRE: Crap from start to finish. E

^looks good to me :D

i agree, even with leaving bias out of it this tournament has been great so far. There has been great showing of attacking football, plenty of last minute goals and great young talents.

watching this vid is making me reeeeaaaaally sad b/c it was such a beautiful tournament but yet it wasn't finished the way it should have been finished (from a german view).

btw: I'm currently watching Grönemeyer's WC song. this song and the vid gave me goose pimples every time I watched it and it still does... the perfect song for a perfect tournament...

Well, if Turkey beats Germany I am convinced they'll win the finals too. They will be another Greece but so far have done it with style.

(still, if that were to happen idk if i could watch this tournament again)

Until now, this may be the best soccer tourney EVER. This has been a single nonstop highlight reel with purely killer and no filler material. This is the perfect tourney to become a soccer fan. :)

If you are looking for a reason for the surprisingly crappy play by two attacking teams in today s game, you can point your finger to referee. He obviously didnt make a big mistake but he called every single frigging contact as a foul. He didnt let the game flow for either team by stopping the game for every little physical play, not to mention very harsh cards that might very well cost us the semis. If UEFA wants to change soccer's reputation as a "soft" game, they shouldnt appoint this guy again.
