The best case scenario for US is 1-1-1 in the group stage. Its gonna be tough.

I don't know if I'll wake up at 7am tomorrow for Iraq/South Africa.

Spain 5-0 NewZealand
SouthAfrica 0-0 Iraq

Excited to see USA - Italy tomorrow. It's a shame that USA couldn't be in Group A. They'd have a much better chance to advance

A draw is the best I can hope for.

Looks like no Cannavaro and Legrottaglie for Italy.

South Africa - IRAQ 0-0
Spain looks unbeatable....

My friend was right. (maybe)
South African whites prefer rugby, blacks like football.
I know foreign fans will invade South Africa in 2010 for the World Cup, but it was very disappointing
to see empty stadiums for the first 2 games.
Not even South Africa's match was sold out in South Africa...
The stadium was almost empty for the New Zealand - Spain match.
The South African team looked pathetic against Iraq....

It's just unfair to defend Spain's full strength attack.

New Zealand is awful, Italy even scored 4 on them in a friendly last week....even though Italy's 2nd string defense/goalie let in 2 headers off set pieces and a PK, they obviously don't have a chance against a good team in a competetive match.

The fans won't be an issue for the world cup, but I agree that it'd be nicer to see a larger crowd.

Anyone know why Egypt can win the '06 and '08 african nations cup, but only qualified for the '34 and '90 world cup

Damn I wish Bosna was in it :D But anyways good luck to everyone. I honestly don't see United States winning a game in their group. Egypt is tough and has a good attack and I know for a fact Egypt is tougher then teams that America has faced in their qualifiers. And we all know it should be a walk in the park for Italia and Brazil against the Americans.

I don't get it? Are you responding to my question just just laughing at USA's group?

I'd rather have it this way, even if it likely means losing 2 games. NZ or Iraq and South Africa wouldn't really be tests for the US.

And Spain is on another planet, definite favorites heading into 2010 WC.

Tomorrow:
Italy 1-0
Brazil 2-0

How are you even eligible for this cup? Special invitation or something?

WOOAH! Told you guys Egyptian attack is strong as hell. 4-3 to Brazil come on now, and Brazil got really lucky on that 90th minute penalty kick.

I am impressed by Egypt's attack, but Brazil's defense looked a bit shaky.

Batu--the countries in this are the winners of the continental cups and the world cup, along with the host country South Africa.

Italy will have Legro to start today, their probable starting lineup looks strong:
Buffon
Zambrotta Chiellini Legro Grosso
Gattuso Pirlo De Rossi
Camoranesi Gilardino Iaquinta
I predict they win by 2

it's a shame USA had that red card, but Italy played very well second half. Rossi is amazing

What did you think, I was lying to you when I say Egypt has a elite attack? Their attack is probably 2nd or 3rd best in this whole Confederations Cup.
