I'm surprised Adem Ljajic is not playing for Serbia but will keep tabs on Tosic.

Italy was great Friday against Sweden, won 2-1. Balotelli scored and got a harsh red card. Giovinco with two assists.

yea Napoli's looking good as long as they can keep Lavezzi.

England - Germany today should be exciting

Germany - England is a rather boring 1:1 after 60mins. Looks like Spain will me eliminated.
German players to watch are Sami Khedira, Mesut Özil, Benedikt Höwedes and K-P Boateng. Other than that, this squad isn't really impressive. Totally lacks some firepower upfront.

watched the Italy game, great midfield, promising forwards but lacking defense that gives too many cheap possessions. particularly impressed with Aquafresca.

ya ...we can say the catenaccio era is definitely over.

cigarini-marchisio is a great couple in the midfield, i'm not so high on acquafresca tough ...anyway i'm really falling in love with cigarini, sometimes he scares me, the way he takes care of the ball, the ability he has to anticipate the game flow is really astounding. i think it's a common matter of the best players to create the game without fatigue, one touch passes to open the field ..very very smart.

in the way ciga plays with those one touch passes ducking opponents and avoiding contacts, reminds me of hamsik. i'm really glad and i can't wait to see these 2 guys to play together.

i always thought that one the biggest issues of our soccer (italian i mean..) is to play quick and fast, without holding the ball too much...we usually play using individuals, insisting on dribblings or other useless stuff. why insist on that when you could simply pass the ball quick and avoid defenders? ..i do understand cigarini's attitude is mainly dictated by his small size, but he's smart enough to recognize it as he plays most of the time "di prima" ...

I feel like the other two games Italy's defense was much more impressive. yesterday they let Belarus get some chances off of corners and giveaways...silly mistakes that against a better team could hurt them.

Their second goal was a nice play. Giovinco, Acquafresca, and Balotelli(who got was suspended last game) are the best attack of any u21 team. Marchisio, De Ceglie, and Cigarini are all capable serie A starters. Bad news though as De Ceglie got hurt last game and will be going home. Dessena will start in place of him against Germany and probably Candreva(assisted Acquafresca's goal) for Marchisio(suspended due to yellow cards).
