ya ...we can say the catenaccio era is definitely over.
cigarini-marchisio is a great couple in the midfield, i'm not so high on acquafresca tough ...anyway i'm really falling in love with cigarini, sometimes he scares me, the way he takes care of the ball, the ability he has to anticipate the game flow is really astounding. i think it's a common matter of the best players to create the game without fatigue, one touch passes to open the field ..very very smart.
in the way ciga plays with those one touch passes ducking opponents and avoiding contacts, reminds me of hamsik. i'm really glad and i can't wait to see these 2 guys to play together.
i always thought that one the biggest issues of our soccer (italian i mean..) is to play quick and fast, without holding the ball too much...we usually play using individuals, insisting on dribblings or other useless stuff. why insist on that when you could simply pass the ball quick and avoid defenders? ..i do understand cigarini's attitude is mainly dictated by his small size, but he's smart enough to recognize it as he plays most of the time "di prima" ...
