Well he played really good this season. Put it like this out of 100% he was 80% active the whole season and played great when Rio went down so yeah Vidic had a great season for 2009.

i think Vidic was the best defender in the world this season up until the last month of the season.

Smoove, i think you should group Messi with midfielders, despite scoring lot of goals he mostly played behind Eto'o and Henry. plus, it would give Dzeko better shot at getting a spot

I can't understand Ramos has three votes and Dani Alves 0. Both players played for my team SEVILLA FC and I think Alves is much better than Ramos. Better ataching and better defeating.

My team:
------------------------------------------Casillas-------------------------------------------

Alves------------------------Terry--------------Marquez--------------------Evra

Messi ------------------ Mascherano------- Xavi---------- Iniesta

Torres ------------------ Kanouté

- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

VIVA EL SEVILLA FC!!!!!!

I seriously don't think Messi is a midfielder, I never saw him score a goal from 40 meters out.

It´s not a shot from 40 meters out but he catc the ball at the midfield.

Messi is a winger, he plays as a forward occasionally but he is certainly not a pure striker. you need a pure striker in the game to maximize his skill set.

as for Alves, Alves in Sevilla might have made the list, Alves in Barca was hardly impressive in his first year.

What? How is that a 40 meters goal? He ran with the ball and then shot the ball with like 5 meters our? I'm talking about 40 meters like if someone would do a free-kick. Understand now? Messi never scored from 40 meters out.

Messi is a winger. I think he can be considered a forward, but not a striker.
