NBA v. Soccer Stars in NY

This is pretty great of Reyna and Nash.

U.S. National Team legend Claudio Reyna and two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash are bringing back the Showdown in Chinatown, a free 8-a-side soccer match between ballers and footballers on June 24. It'll kick off at Roosevelt Park at 6 p.m., and will benefit both players' respective foundations.

From soccer: Reyna (U.S., Red Bulls), Thierry Henry (France/FC Barcelona), Javier Zanetti (Argentina/Inter Milan), Salomon Kalou (Ivory Coast/Chelsea), Ryan Babel (The Netherlands/Liverpool), Giovanni van Bronckhurst (The Netherlands/Feyenoord), Mathieu Flamini (France/AC Milan), Ivan Cordoba (Columbia/Inter Milan), Adrian Mutu (Romania/ACF Fiorentina).

From the NBA: Nash (Phoenix Suns) Tony Parker (San Antonio Spurs), Jason Kidd (Dallas Mavericks), Grant Hill (Phoenix Suns), Chris Bosh (Toronto Raptors), Raja Bell (Charlotte Bobcats)

If Raja Bell thinks he can flop, he'll meet his match.

Sadly, there is 10 times more flopping in the NBA now then in European soccer(outside of Italy).

It would have been wicked if they'd got a swatting center to play goalie.

Do Bosh and Hill even know how to play soccer? Also I hope Bosh doesn't get injured. It's a exhibition game so Im sure any contact will be soft, but still.

It's for charity so that's always good, but this sounds like an easy way to get injured. I mean Grant Hill, really, you just got healthy dude.

I fully expect Bosh to have this on youtube in about half a minute, probably with commentary.

The footballers will smash them, this is a joke man. Only Steve Nash, Tony Parker and Raja Ball will know how to play Football because they grow up playing it while they were kids. But Thierry Henry should slay all of them.

They should call Chad Ochocinco(Johnson.) He would be starting for the US if he didn't pick the other football. The biggest problem with US Soccer is our best athletes playing other sports. Could you imagine Andre Johnson as our winger? Kobe as our striker?

Why would Footballers be playing Basketball? We would have to shot with our feet ay?

But Basketball is nowhere near as populated as Football so that's why the are playing Football instead of Basketball. And these Footballers are WAY MORE famous then any of these Basketball players around the world, that's a proven fact.

The World only knows Kobe Bryant in Basketball :D

They don't have to do football players vs. basketball players. They could mix up the teams.

Probably, but back in a while teammates Carlos Diogo and Luis Fabiano had a fight, it was awful to watch.
