2009-2010 Bundesliga Season

Current Champions: VfL Wolfsburg

Speaking about Wolfsburg they opened the Bundesliga season against VfB Stuttgart and Wolfsburg continued their dominance with a 2-0 victory, totally new season for Wolfsburg, they have a new coach from VfB Stuttgart, beat his former club, that's a good sign, but the important part is Wolfsburg didn't lose NO ONE this summer to transfers they came close to losing Edin Dzeko the 2nd top scorer in the Bundesliga last season. Wolfsburg will be in the Champions League so that should be very interesting to watch. Keep your eyes open and recognize VfL Wolfsburg! as they attempt to repeat.

If you're going to pick one team to follow this season, go for Werder Bremen.

It's unbelievable how crap their defense is and they got two exciting young players in Marin and Özil upfront, which will lead to some highscoring games. The lost 3:2 yesterday to Eintracht Frankfurt, which should set the tone for the upcoming games. You can always expect them to score 2,3 or more goals, but that won't be enough to win most days... fun situation.

Bayern played "little Chelsea" Hoffenheim. 1:1, Hoffenheim was better, the ref stole the win. Van Gaal should be the right coach for Munich, but that didn't look good. I still don't get why they booted Ze Roberto and Lucio and now start Holger Badstuber in the center...

In exactly 31mins. my Brazilians from the Breisgau will make their comeback after four long years in the second division. My prediction against Hamburg: 6:1 for us...
...ok ok, seriously: They'll get murdered and right now, I'd take a loss with less than 2 goals. We're starting some guys that weren't good enough for the first XI last season, but now have to play due to injuries. Our goalie and central defense are BY FAR the worst "last line" I've ever seen in the Bundesliga. But who knows, perhaps they can surprise me...

I'll def. follow Werder because they have a very young Bosnian named Said Husejinović he turned 21 on May and is a very promising footballer for Werder and for future Bosna, so I shall def. be keeping an eye on Werder.

1-1.

Yeah, defense would be nice. I think you guys should try to buy Sanel Jahic look him up great defender, or maybe even Adnana Mravac he is a top 3 best defender in the Austria League and he knows German already so no problem with him fitting him the Bundesliga.

The Bochum - Mönchengladbach game was great.

I'll try to watch a few games especially to keep track of Ozil, Shweini and Podolski.

Bundesliga have A LOT of top quality footballers and their league is really on a lift off so yeah follow it. And I will tell you which clubs to follow. Look for Hoffenheim because their hitman just came back from injure and that's Vedad Ibisevic, so follow them and see if he can continue score where he left off last year with 18 goals in 17 matches before he got a season ending injure.

Then also you can follow VfL Wolfsbug to see if they can win the Bundesliga once again, and it's always fun watching Edin Dzeko, Zvjezdan Misimovic and Grafite tear up the defense of their opponents.

I am currently very busy at work and have limited Internet access atm. But thanks for asking :D

However, Wolfsburg had an impressive start, Schalke was also ok, Bayern not so. Having a crap GK (Rensing and Butt equally suck) and a novice CB (Badstuber) does not help your cause. My dark horse is Dortmund -- a powerhouse at home, and if they can get better on the road, they could end up high. Hoffenheim is also interesting, they look more stable defensively with Simunic.

And yes, the Gladbach - Bochum game was great. Almost as good as the 5-4 Bremen-Hoffenheim game last year. :)

PS: Huseijnovic was a flat out BUST last season at Kaiserslautern, he degenerated from striker #2 to striker #5 in the pecking order.

No problem man, I love you around here and you always! Talk great football with you specially German football.

Anyways on Huseijnovic I can't agree more that he was a huge bust last season, but this pre-season for Werder he did great and was scoring goals actually so I'm having high hopes for him. Our National team doesn't need him but he needs to get better and Werder is the place for him to get better!

FC Köln vs. VfL Wolfsburg 1-3.

Edin Dzeko scored for the first time today, Womé scored and own goal and gave Wolfsburg a 2-1 lead then in the 87' minute Martin scored for Wolfsburg calling it a night, Wolfsburg our in first place currently :D

While Bayern is struggling to get a win this season! Gomez had to score a late goal in the 72' minute to level it with Bremen! Who ever said Bayern was going to win the league must be hitting themselves hard now, but I can understand it's only the 2nd match of the season.

Nice comeback for VfL, they've got great attacking force.
Is Kahlenberg injured?

Wolfsburg is really getting the job done, Dzeko scored a tricky goal vs Cologne. Team of the moment is Schalke, who also have opened with 2 wins. Bayern is still looking rusty and out of sync, a disappointment up to now.

My man of the moment: Mesut Özil. He single handedly makes a crappy Bremen squad look decent. He is seamlessly playing in the form that made him MVP of the U21 Euro Championship. Lucky he is irrevocably a member of the German NT now :D

(And yes, Kahlenberg is injured atm.)

as you say it it's only 2 games into the season. I have little doubt that Bayern will bounce back. not that I'm advocating it though as I clearly hate them.

btw: is it allowed to talk 2. Bundesliga too? :D

We shall see, Wolfsburg doesn't look like they will slow down for anyone and I can bet anything that Wolfsburg will smash Bayern like they did last year 5-1.

could happen but it won't mean they'll win the league. it's been two games and i'm not in a rush to judge the teams based on their play yet, just their roster.
and to be honest i don't see wolfsburg finishing ahead of bayern or hamburg.

You are rushing to judge if you are going to make a statement like that. As I'm rushing to judge also by saying Wolfsburg will finish 1st again.
