Watching this game was black and white.

The first half when Ayton was out... the suns looked horrifically bad...as in Lakers predictable bad...

Second half when Ayton was back...suns was much better both ends.

Another evidence of Ayton's impact to the game. But unfortunately he didn't get 10 dunks so bad game from some suns fans standard I suppose.

Imagine if everyone were Heat fans how they'd be talking about Bam last night...or if we had him and he played like he did. He was 5/15 with 5 turnovers. He did have a dunk in the 4th though so that's good.

I'm an Ayton fan for sure! And I agree that 10 dunks seems highly unreasonable given all he brings to the table! For my part, I'll be happy with only 9 dunks and a power layup with authority!!!

Good article right here, especially the video breakdowns.

1) Paul sitting on the bench.
2) Booker and Ayton showing what the next four years could look like

We won. And Lee was terrific.
Othe tthan that, not too many good things to point out.

I have to reckon that the referees and the luck are in a love affair with the Mavs. It is not normal that they call so many stupid fauls for them and then so many crazy shots end up inside our basket.

Our play was terrific and our ideas, team play and defense were terrible.

We have a non existant bench. Lee played well and was energetic. Payne did some interesting things. Landale added some positive things. That was all.

One of the worst things was that the starters had to play too much time. I have seen many of the other games of these two first days. I have seen Philly, Boston, NO, Utah, Lakers, Clippers... nobody is using the starters so much and in such long stretches.
This will turn out as something really negative.

If he impacts the game like that consistently you will not see any complains, just as there wasn’t vs Dallas.

They are young with good conditioning. Bridges played a ton of minutes last year in just about every game. Booker quite a bit too. Ayton played 23 of 24 minutes in the second half.

Many of the guys on those other teams are older and/or have a lot of injuries. Plus some played in blowouts where they didn't have to play a lot of minutes.

Caught up in the euphoria of coming back and winning, I forgot to say how surprised I an at how Javale McGee looks like he brings NOTHING to that system. He was a total non factor against us and I expected him to have a good game.

Javale was an addition for other opponents. The Suns (Bridges/Ayton in particular) do pretty well containing a normal 1/5 PnR with the screener rolling to the rim. Its the pick and pop with a shooting screener and Luka handling that they had/have trouble with. Its a reason Powell got less and less minutes in the playoff series since hes just a roller and that action was easier to contain.
