Ayton got that crucial O reb and avoided the TO down the stretch. And though Bam outplayed him over the course of the game, you can't deny that DA's strong screens were the prime mover for almost everything we were doing in the half court in the 4th. Butler moving off ball is a lot like Draymond - constantly creating space for other players. Butler helps Bam a lot. We could use

I'm excited that Duane got minutes and immediately produced!!! I'm also very happy that Damion Lee has continued to hit threes - 46% on the season. Bet those two get another extended opportunity tonight. If they continue to play well, that could be a really big deal for us as the season progresses.

That was a clear mistake by Monty Williams.

I can live with the first mid-range shot that got blocked but after Ayton's rebound we needed to ask for a timeout and make a precise plan for a good last shot.

Book took a well defended 3p shot when we just a needed a two to win the game. Bad shot attempt for sure.

Yeah, a 26 ft contested shot was not what we would hope for in and inbounds play. A 1 on 1 shot against Butler isn't really either. You want to set a play to come off a screen for an open look, or even be a decoy for someone else to get a great shot.

Overall we played well though for being shorthanded on the road against a good team desperate for a win. We should have probably looked for some easier shots down the stretch after being up 13 and not continuing to rely on jump shots though, as I mentioned in the game thread and I think we come away with the win.

Also, when Book has that look like he's going to try to take someone 1 on 1, he needs to try to blow by them sometimes when he makes his fake drive forward before doing the pull up fadeaway, because if you do that every time, your fake starts to become predictable. Blow by them to the rim like Ja or others might do at the end, geting an easy shot at the rim or at least fouled and to the line.

I can see why Monty didn't though. The Heat have been playing stifling defense the last 8 minutes of the game, they are in complete disarray after the Suns grabbed an offensive board, he doesn't want their defense to settle. Spoelstra is also great after timeouts.

Still though, Monty should have called a timeout, knowing full well Booker is probably gassed. Suns only down 1, we don't have to go to Booker for the last shot, we can setup a lob for Ayton, we can put Washington Jr in, and really get the Heat guessing who is taking the last shot.

Monty was really upset by Mikal not taking the shot. In addition to being an open shot, losing time in this situation was a bad decision.

Massive mistake from Bridges. He normally doesn't make mistakes but this was a bad one
