I bumped this thread with that information because I think that Bezos will shift his way there and try and buy them as opposed to us. He already owns the Washington Post and is heavily involved with the NFL. Might as well buy a football team as well.

He can of course afford both but I'd be surprised if the Suns are his 1st choice now......

Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) and owner of The Washington Post, has expressed interested in buying the Washington Commanders, according to People and later reported by the Bezos-owned newspaper.

Music mogul Jay-Z might be involved in Bezos’ bid for the team, according to the reports. Bezos, with a net worth of more than $113 billion, is currently the world’s fourth-richest person, according to Forbes. Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, is worth $1.3 billion, according to Forbes.

That's a smart move and with all this drama surrounding Amazon still selling that book, I don't think the league is gonna be too happy about him owning us. He's already involved in the NFL, just makes sense to own a team all the better if he owns a team in the city he's heavily invested in with DC.

I wonder if I need to add Obama as an option to this thread? Lol.

I don't think he has near the money but he can buy in as a minority owner and be the public face of the team I suppose.

As long as we have someone who doesn't mind cutting some big checks. That's all I really care about.

I don't know if they would associate Bezos with the book. Amazon is just a buy/sell marketplace and there is a place for independent film makers to upload films. Though I did read that they have to pass some sort of quality test or something and every other film that guy made got rejected.

What is interesting about Kyrie promoting this and getting behind, from what I read, this film is just something one guy made at home. Like a home made movie.

Though it does seem like Amazon would take it down given the negative publicity. The guy who put it up, is probably raking in the dough right now too despite how much people hate it a lot of people now want to go watch it anyway to get more context.

I've heard it's been marked up to 50.00 from originally being like 10.00.

Amazon is making a killing off this whole situation as well.

All I know is Bezos and Musk can both get shot into outer space. No thanks.

I would like to see Obama be the owner of the Suns. I imagine he would be very savvy being an NBA owner from following the league his whole life as a huge fan and obviously also being very smart.

I could be a minority sponsor for one player in one game. Maybe they could wear a sticker on one of their shoes or something. Well, maybe not since I can't afford to attend one game. Oh well...

Basically says Bezos is possibly heading for the former Redskins. That he's maybe trying to push others away in hopes of locking this down. Which is true, takes him out of the running for us as it's doubtful he will own 2 major franchises.

I think it's gonna be Larry Ellison with a minority share sold to Obama to put him in as the face man. Barack can't buy us outright but he'd be fine as a Suns ambassador to the league/world.

Why not Donald Sterling? I mean, he's definitely got experience.

/s just in case anyone needs to see it.

Iger is back with Disney for at least 2yrs. I'm guessing that puts him out of the running for sports team ownership?

FTR I was/am a big proponent of Iger as owner. Always thought his leadership, business acumen, professionalism and foresight would've been a huge asset to this team.

To reiterate what Lilfishi22 was saying above:
Read on Twitter

I didn't really care for Iger personally as I'm looking more towards a deep pocketed billionaire rather than a potential ownership group with potential financial constraints. We've been down this restrictive path with fiscally inept owners before, better to have one with very deep pockets and no spending limit concerns! Give me Bezos or Ellison or some other mystery billionaire that's willing and very capable of going all in to build a championship juggernaut!!

Iger does have that ESPN connection... imaging the foul calls the Suns would get then. But right now "anyone but Musk!" for me. You don't want the Suns run like Twitter...

Yeah! I'm honestly curious about who our most legitimate options are??? Kinda curious about Ellison and Even Bezos. I'm sure that their are other candidates too, just waiting for the great reveal!

My biggest qualifiers are:

1- Deep pocketed Billionaire and possible basketball fanatic.
2- No ownership groups with financial constraints or concerns as we've already endured.
3- No political distractions and NO BANKERS or cheapskates.

Really just a deep pocket billionaire basketball fan that isn't a control freak or political diva/ distraction artist.
