We need to figure out a great value trade with picks that Ainge would accept for Sexton and Vanderbilt. I have a two part trade (somewhat costly for sure!) for us to get BOTH Sexton and Vanderbilt! Basically:

1:
Phoenix/Toronto/ Lakers (Part 1)

Toronto gets- Ayton/ Shamet.
Lakers get- Van Vleet/ Trent.
Phoenix gets- Westbrick's (47 million expiring)/ Achiuwa /Koloko / Toronto 23' 1st/ Lakers 23' 2nd.

2:
Phoenix/Atlanta/Utah (Part 2)

Atlanta gets- Westbrick's 47 million expiring/Koloko.
Utah gets- Collins/ Achiuwa/ Toronto 23' 1st/Phoenix 24' (top 6) lotto protected 1st.
Phoenix gets- Capela/ Sexton/ Vanderbilt/ Kaminsky/ Holiday (**we waive Holiday or flip him for a future 2nd).

Paul/ Booker/ Bridges/ Johnson/ Capela.
Sexton/ Naw/ Vandy / Kaminsky/Biyombo.
Wash/ Okogie/ Ish/ Landale/ Vandy.
** 2023 draft................................................
Phoenix 23' 1st (Late 20's) we draft Grant Nelson to replace Landale.

Lakers' 23' we draft Reece Beekman to replace Payne.

41 FTs for the Suns, 25 for the Nets. Whatevs, I'll take it, good to have CamJ back looking healthy.

[size=85](Just don't win all that much, its pretty pointless at this season, and it would give people the wrong ideas of us being contenders or CP being relevantly good, etc...)

YEP!!! something like 41 free throws tonight. When have the suns ever gotten those many calls benefitting them? What a night!! :D Maybe it does help to have a billionaire new owner in the building watching the game in the middle of a 4 billion sales acquisition for the NBA! translation: Silver tells the refs to not crap on us tonight.

Yup Silver must have told the officiating crew to make the Suns look good so Ishibia doesn't back out of the purchase.

Bring Ishbia to all phx suns related events then (specially the lottery draft) :D

Saben Lee is playing way better than Shamet and Washington (recently). Good ball-handling, not affraid to attack the rim.
I would give him a contract till the end of the season and in the meantime deal Saric and Shamet somehow.

Then it has been pretty pointless to win any game for the last 55 years.

Cam back - nice win. I will take it

Suns are two games from the Mavericks for the 6th spot. They have to win some games these next two weeks - go .500 or so and see what happens when, if, they ever get healthy. But Cam J back is a start.

Lee should get another ten days

Thats basically it. No more injuries - well maybe to the back five guys for a change and not the top 10 :)

Make a Jae trade

And see what happens these last 3 months or so. The Suns are pretty close to the 6th seed. Suns have a bunch of expirings and even Shamet is only 10.5m next year. Lets Go!

It's is even better than that... we are two games from the Mavs for the 5th spot.

One game from the Jazz for the 6th spot.

I don't get the Kyrie hate, I mean besides the fact that he's a moron off the court and doesn't know it.

But ON the court, I always saw him for what he was - basically just a weapon, a closer, probably the best 1v1 player in the NBA when he wants to be / needs to be. He was trash for 3 quarters last night, but so was their entire team. Then he just turned it on and was pretty incredible in that 4th quarter.

He'd do great things here with our core once the CP3 era is over.

Kyrie
Book (who is basically the guard version of KD)
Bridges
CamJo/Craig
Ayton. (Speedy Claxton)

He's shown that he can exist with a high usage player like Lebron.

Get him to buy in, put his head down, and kill teams in the 4th quarter within our system.

Of course it's never "pointless" to win any game. But I don't think that Bogyo's comments are at all indicating or suggesting that we straight up tank or lose games as much as possible. Only Rather that while winning is of course good and necessary for a successful culture, BUT it's important to not get distracted or disillusioned by the reality that major upgrades are needed IF we're truly serious and invested in contention. additionally when considering our cap situation and the restrictive implications of our cap situation and less than desirable asset cache.

Also, with respect to Paul, Whilst he's been truly amazing for us and an absolute catalyst to our finals run and culture change too. The painful reality of the situation is that Paul has been regressing/deteriorating very rapidly due to his age and other complicating factors. And as much as uncomfortable as it may be to have to admit to and consider this proposition, Paul may not even be capable of playing starter's level minutes anymore as soon as next season even. Optimism is great, but blind optimism can be dangerous too. At some point very quickly whether we like it or not, we'll need to pivot and actually start forming some semblance of a long term sustainability plan for our post Paul era. It sucks that he fell off a cliff so suddenly. And it truly sucks that our window was so very brief with him. But deep down we all knew that to be the case. We need to be honest with ourselves While the Paul experiment has been an absolute win for us, that experiment with him is almost closed and we'll quickly need a replacement solution for what we'll miss with him gone or possibly non impactful as early as next season. It might be important to adapt and become more proactive than reactive as we have been for so long under Saver!

Bogyo's comments are merely reflecting upon the concerns over our need for critical depth talent upgrades outside of random outlier performances. And the concern over accepting that we're NOW inetivibly entering our post Paul era. And will need to accept that we have to find a solution to replace that talent/production void from his decline/ leaving as early as next season. So both positions have legitimate merit here. :D
