Kings players aren't super experienced in the post season.

Kings had 8 players play 72+ games, so their record is based on a VERY relatively healthy roster compared to many other teams whose records are based on best up rosters and have another gear. The Kings as far as we know don't have another gear.

Kings are a bottom 6 defense in the NBA. They have an amazing offense, but opposing good teams can keep up with scoring against their defense while believing they can strategize better on defense then the Kings are capable of.

This doesn't mean they are easy, but based on the choices available, yes, it does make sense that teams would prefer the Kings.
