Where did you see the 2023 version of Tracy McGrady? He stil playing somewhere? He's 43 now.

I think Slim meant 2023 Mikal looks a lot like Mcgrady in his prime or early days with the Magic. I could be wrong though but that’s my interpretation.

That's a stretch.

I think he is very close, as I felt was where he could get, to Paul George at the same age. Now this comparison includes his full year this year, so including him playing when we had like 7 guys out and struggled to put anything next to him and Ayton...it was like Craig, Washington and Lee or something.

If you were just looking at his last 15 games with Phx and his Brooklyn time, he would look a lot better vs George, but even with his struggles when we were so banged up, they have the same TS%, etc, and it's the same. Bridges last 15 games with Phx and time in Brooklyn, he would have more PPG than George on a better TS% (over 60%) George was a better rebounder and more steals, but Bridges has averaged 1.6 per game before.

That's exactly what I meant. I don't see Paul George at all. Pg13's comp is coming out this year though and his name is Brandon Miller. As for Mikal, his smootg slithery style of scoring is very reminiscent of TMac, but not quite that good of course.

I think a lot of this, and I told the Nets forum this is that he's helped by the move to SG. We had him out here battling guys bigger and stronger at the 3. They wisely put him back at his natural place.

Don't see Mcgrady at all, who could just about do it all, was much more of a heliocentric player like Stevie Francis and Marbury, just way smoother and silkier, plus bigger.

MIkal's offensive game is simple and pretty effective. He's expanding it, for sure, but I expect it to be pretty easy for a team like Philly to slow him down. Stylistically, he kinda reminds me of a shorter Rashard Lewis - guy who lived in the mid-range, could shoot over guys, got to his spots with ease. His length tho, is something special....if he was 6'10, 6'11, he'd basically be KD-lite. And his motor is great, obviously a hard worker, great teammate, plays defense (although I notice they put him on Tobias Harris....to save his energy?)

He's gonna be in the 50/40/90 club someday, you can almost book it. But is he a first or second option on a championship team? Maybe, maybe not.

Eliminated, I expect to see Mikal and Cam with good seats at the game on Tuesday. Hopefully good seats near the Suns bench. I think they still know they are family and would support and I also think their presence would give us a great boost and vibe. Come hang out fellas!!!

You guys are delusional. Both dudes are probably on some yacht in the middle of a tropical vacation. Or chilling somewhere else.

I'll guarantee you ANYTHING that you won't be seeing them hanging out in the crowd rooting for the team that just traded them 90 days ago.

we still miss him.
it says a lot about this franchise that only 1 player is left from a finals run 3 seasons ago.

I'm not sure it does say anything. Obviously I miss Mikal too but Sarver and Ayton were the real problems with the franchise. DA simply did not or could not develop into the player the Suns needed. Sarver was a problem from day 1 of his ownership. The big mistake made by the front office (under Sarver) was not trading DA when his value was high. The changes made since Ishbia has taken on ownership have been for the most part spot on. This team on paper is significantly better than last years team. There is a 3-4 year window because of the moves that have been made. We should recognize that and enjoy the ride

I miss him so much! There are times I wake up in the middle of the night sweating and yelling Mikal’s name, but to no avail I realize he’s gone for good.

I personally think, obviously biased, that a core of Bridges, Booker + x + y + z could have done much better if the suns turned CP3 and DA into something of more value, but right after the Dallas drama it was obvious that this was going nowhere.
Since Da and CP3 lost most of their value Bridges, Cam and Picks was the most valuable non-Booker asset the suns had.

The suns took huge risk for this window.

We could’ve found a way to surround Booker and Mikal with Beal, Gordon, few other players without losing Bridges. Like you said had a chance to trade both while their stock was high but didn’t pull the trigger. Now we have a stacked team on paper who should be historically great on offense, but lack defense. Let’s just hope Okogie turns into Gary Payton on defense.

The crazy thing is, even if Mikal didn't develop that 20ppg potential and was still stuck at 13/5/4/1 he was still THAT GUY, no matter how inflated DA's stats ever become we...most of of recognize he will never touch what Mikal brought whether it was version '19 or '23.

Mikal brought it every game. I occasionally questioned his decision making and lack of aggressiveness, but I never questioned his effort or whether he was invested in whatever role he was playing. He'll always be my tied favourite player of this era of the Phoenix Suns
