The doom and gloom on this board surrounding this team baffles me when 2 out of our big 3 hasn't even played a game together. Really how good do you expect us to be when the entire team is built around the big 3. You might remember the Steph couldn't even make the playoffs in that season where Klay and Draymond were both hurt, and when the Lakers finished near bottom of the West when AD missed half a season.
You don't need to be basketball Einstein to know our offense is going to be supernova when Book and Beal are both back, I'm not taking much out of the games played so far other than
1. We do need to get bigger, luckily we have the whole season to fill that out plus several guys on the bench who haven't been given a chance yet
2. Wemby is going to be a real problem going forward for us and the entire league

Regarding #2 -
This is why having Bol stashed away on the roster could net some dividends IF and ONLY IF they are able to incorporate him with the Big 3. I'm still really curious to see what that would look like. Don't get me wrong, I'm not banking on it working out but man if they could reign Bol in it's the obvious way to approach that matchup .......
Chances are more likely that we will need his roster spot later in the year for a personnel move.

It baffles me a few people who sound like player fanboys can't understand the doom and gloom is directly related to the Big 3 being injured to start the season, not the 3-4 record, and there is no proof they will be injury free to end the season. People on GB also don't believe it's likely to happen. And those people on GB don't care Suns sacrificed the future for 2y window at best like Suns fans do. Don't worry, once Beal shows up and Suns have a winning record everybody will be happy.

Injuries are injuries, they happen as largely random occurrences so it's not something you build your team around. Lakers would have 1 less championship if they passed on Davis because of his fragility, and Warriors would have several less if they sent Curry packing after his ankle issues. I don't buy this injury prone business as long as the player takes care of his body and he doesn't have a degenerative condition, Embiid was supposedly damaged goods but he just won a MVP, so much of it is just plain luck.

embiid may be a bad example because literally every year in the playoffs, he gets injured and it is directly related to the Sixers playoff struggles.

Lakers luck is called covid. Also I'm sure there was doom and gloom on Warriors board too when they were missing players.

Luck is luck, Harden's hamstring wasn't an issue when Nets traded everything for him until it was, Steph's ankle was an issue until it wasn't. Beal is an ironman until he isn't, and perhaps Mikal will continue being an ironman until he isn't.
I'll admit Bookers diagnosis does concern me since it's been multiple body parts now on the same leg and I'd rather they take it slow with him. As fans we wiIl just have to ride out these first few tough weeks (hopefully not months)

Yeah hopefully it's not months. As you said in the other thread KD is not dependable to carry such load for long anymore. The most frustrating thing we have both Beal and Book sidelined. People assumed we'll rest players but hopefully have a Big 2 at least for most of the regular season games and this start of the season has been rather disappointing.

Good win yesterday. Excited to see Shams report that Booker and Beal will both be on the floor within the next 7-10 days. Can't wait

I don’t buy most injuries in the NBA. Agents/teams protect these players way too much. That’s the real issue. Guys sit when they’re “sore” .. just think about that. It’s a slap in the face for fans.

Yes I'd say a good percentage of NBA injuries is just preventative maintenance. If this was the playoffs they'd play
I understand it if the end goal is to win a title, but it def sucks for fans if they spent a few hundred dollars to Goto one game a year and the star is out.

A positive of Booker and Beal missing games early is getting to see what we have in role players and letting them battle it out for spot minutes once the stars are back. Rather be figuring that out early in the season than later on.

While yes, also no. We are talking about 2 of the most important 3 players here. It matters who can play with who after they returtn - some of our guard (small wing) rotation might be good, just can't play them as much when they return. For example I think that one of Allen/Gordon will not have "sufficent" minutes after they are back, while KBD could see a minute increase. The former 2 are better basketball players, but KBD has the lenght which we'll desperatley need.
