In 04-05 Shaq was Steve's biggest competion...until he missed the last 15 games or so. People conveiniently forget that little fact. That maybe wouldn't have hurt him but Nash went nuts down the stretch and pulled away.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Shaqs annual 15 game vacation. Well based on that, I'm gonna give a slight edge to Nash. I still think Shaq was more valuable to the Heat the Nash was to the Suns. But you can't win MVP's when you miss 25% of the season.

If Nash was with the Cavs they'd win 45-50, and if Lebron was on the Suns they'd be talking about 73+ wins. The Suns would be unbeatable, Lebron can pass and score when he wants, he elevates the play of his team just like Nash does. The difference is you can depend on him in the clutch (25 in the 4th quarter against detroit, easter conference finals).

MVP standings SHOULD go like this

1. Lebron
2. Kobe
3. Garnett
4. Paul
5. Nash

But they probably will go like this

1. Garnett
2. Lebron
3. Paul
4. Kobe
5. Nash

I'm just a bit confused, what we're discussing in this thread tho?

1. This was never answered
2. We are getting off-topic (at the very leased we should be discussing something Laker/Suns related).
3. The "who really deserved the MVP" has been discussed, rehashed, discussed again and then discussed after dinner some more.
4. Random Laker/Suns threads have never gone well in the past, that's why I wanted to know what the specific topic was.
5. We can discuss this at a later date (like the Play-offs!).
